My father had this car from 2000, until he died, 650,000 kilometers without opening the engine, only filters and maintenance, it still works without opening and it makes me very nostalgic to remember when we were traveling as a family in that car. My dad still has a focus estate 1.8 tdi 66kw , the sound is unique has plenty of torque and doesnt use that much gasoline one of the most efficient and durable engines ever . This car now has 22 years and does the job better than most of modern cars. Is my childhood car and with a great chance i will take it to conserve in the garage and maybe be a piece of collection but it doesn t matter.

I am 18 years old and in Italy new drivers cannot drive cars with more than 95hp so I bought a 2009 Ford Focus sw 1.6 90hp. I love the noise of its diesel engine which is not bad at all compared to small petrol engines which consume twice as much.

Miss my MK1 focus. I had the 1.6i 100bhp unit. So much fun to drive through twisty country roads and it's the most reliable car I ever had, never let me down once or ever wanted for anything. If it wasn't for an unfortunate crash I'd still have it. Much prefer these to the heavy, soulless mk2's.

This was like the golden age of cars, durable work horses focus 1.8 tdci, Golf 1.9 tdi, Astra G 1.7 dti. My father still has Astra G 1.7 dti, has over 350000km still first turbo, first clutch, still 4.5l/100km consumption on combined road, great cars.

My dad still has 2000 1.8 66kw focus avant and he really likes it. But he aged and he was such a good car when it was newer. Bought it around 2010 and at that time was such a masterpiece. For the past 5-7 it really started to show it's age. Otherwise was pretty reliable car and good ride❤

Miss my 2000 Focus 1.8 tddi trend so much. Highway beast, used to do 180/190 km/h steady like a charm, still with throttle left. Never stopped once.I would buy it back today.

What a great car, i have the 1.6 zetec SW, 0 problem in 23 years except a dead battery (the original one lasted 13 years, it died on the 1st January 2012), I still drive on the original fuel filter after 190k km and still starting every morning. An economic car, nice looking outside and inside, enjoyable to drive, not that slow, actually pretty fast and sound nice, cheap to maintain and really good for long trip it’s a really comfortable cruiser. Love this car, it’s a gem that is going to disappear

Had about 8 mk1 focus's had 4 1.8 petrol zetec, had one 2.0 litre petrol zetec and 2 st170's absolute brilliant cars really nice to drive good feel from the road through the power steering

I was an ownwer for more thant 12 years on 5 dr Mk1,5 Tddi 90. It was not perfect, but good enough for me. I still miss my old focus after 6 years driving a mk3.5 model.

The 1.8 TDCi 116hp is a great machine! Quiet and fast.. all though it's not as bullit proof as the TDDi 75 and 90hp.

Podoba mi się wnętrze tego Focusa. Wiele ciekawsze niż w VW i lepiej wykonane niż w francuzach. Kierownica też mi się podoba, chociaż wiem że dla wielu jest paskudna.

Compare this to a 2001 Focus in the US and they are SO different. We didn't get those style key fobs until the 2010's, never had a hood lock or a diesel option just to name a few

I had a 1.8 TDI MK1, think it was the 110hp(?). It did get down the road quick enough and sipped fuel. Ropey old heap that one though. Kind of miss it

I had a 2002 tddi ghia. Absolutely loved it, but he failed it's MOT big time so had to scrap him 😢 Got a newer suzuki now, but it's just not the same.
