2001 FS-65 Freightliner/Thomas School Bus Owned by Durham Public Schools
This is Bus 429 (Backing up C2 Bus 30) doing the afternoon route from Northern High School to my Bus stop (which is second). I plan on doing more on these if I'm able to get on another bus (Probably a C2)

I bought a 2002 Thomas Freightliner 7.2L 3126 c7 for our skoolie conversion. I have a few questions about this engine if you have knowledge of it and wouldn’t mind answering some questions you can send me a comment 😊

I remember riding this type of school bus back in the school year of 2015-16. It's a very slow acceleration compared to the IC buses and the Thomas Saf-T-liner. I don't hate the Freightliner though. So I rode on the following school bus - GMC short school bus -Thomas Freightliner School Bus -IC School Bus -Old IC School Bus -Thomas Saf-T-liner Bus -BlueBird School Bus -GMC Wheelchair school bus

how did you hold the camera for this one? I hold my camera over the seat when I record but I sit on the passenger side so I don't have the restrictions and blockages that you do on the driver side

the NC FS-65s with the mercedes engines were 04-06

Yeah, but I think some FS-65 buses were modified to this engine. I might be wrong but whatever it is it sounds like a Mercedes engine

it's definitely a mercedes. b/c the driver's side mirror is at the bottom, its most likely a 2004

Its a 2001 cause it has incandescant lights and the dash is the older style

@@ncrailfan1869 how do bus drivers, especially new ones, know exactly where they are supposed to go, I know they have a route paper, what if they don't know the road, how do they know?

@@ML-dg5yp bus drivers get their routes a few weeks before the school year starts so they get a chance to drive their route before school starts to memorize it. In my district, the routes are based on seniority. If you driven the longest like 30 years plus you get first dibs on what route you want
