Seriously one of the best moments in baseball history. Everything about this clip is perfect. Sterling basically predicting the HR, Jeter coming to the plate struggling in the series, going down 0-2 in the count but fighting the count full, the clock striking midnight, the guy holding the Mr. November sign, Jeter's parents, and then of course the home run. Sure it was a cheap Yankees Stadium RF shot, but it was still the perfect climax.

And all of that after that great Tino moment in the 9th. I’m from NY. That was a frightening time. I was 13. When Tino hit that HR I nearly passed out. When Jeter walked it off I ran outside and did a lap around my house. And then Brosius went and did the same thing as Tino the next night. Those games were magical. Then, of course, we lost and I was devastated.

When Tino tied the game I thought I was going to lose my hearing from the noise. When Jeter hit the homerun to win it, I thought my feet would never touch the ground. It was absolutely amazing.

I think for many people this was the day that life went back to somewhat normal and that happiness and optimism came back to NY. It went from a month of talking about 9/11 to getting excited about the Yanks

I was there. Front row left field in front of that yellow sign @ 0:11. Halloween night with a full moon and the WTC flag right above us. Tino's HR was amazing and then for Jeter to end it like this.....greatest sports moment I've ever witnessed in person.

Yeah everything in game 7 was all set up for the Yankees to win. Soriano hits the home run in the top of the 8th inning to give the Yankees the lead which meant Rivera coming in with a lead and just needing 6 outs for a 4th straight WS win. The Yankees with a lead going into the final two innings were nearly unbeatable over the previous 5 years first with John Wetteland then Rivera.

It hurt a lot at the time and while it still sticks out a little like a sore thumb to me that we didn't get the four in a row, I've over time learned to compartmentalize this World Series by ignoring all four games in Arizona and just enjoying Games 3-4-5. One thing that makes it a *little* less painful is how we were playing more like the underdog through the whole Series and not at all like in the 2004 ALCS (that one will ALWAYS hurt).

As a Yankee fan this is still my fav series ever and we lost. I felt that loss with mo so hard. Also forgotten is how horrible of a series Kim had. God damn.

This is probably my favorite Yankee team other than the 96 team. After clinching the division, they drop the first two games at home to the A's in the playoff round. THey head to Oakland not only with an anemic offense trying to stave off elimination, but losers of 18 of their previous 20 games. Jeter's flip helps the Yankees turn that series around. Then they totally outclass the 116 win Mariners to advance to the WS. Johnson and Schilling were humming, and I had no idea how the Yankees were going to score. They rally to win this game after being one strike away from falling behind 3-1 in the series. YOu know how it ended, but I thought this team greatly overachieved and provided one hell of a run.

I sat in center field that game. I was so upset that we were losing, I wanted to just leave and beat traffic til Tino came up and homered to tie it. The place went nuts. Then Jeter comes and makes this game the best game I have ever gone to in my life.

I was there too. It was such a surreal atmosphere. Single greatest game I've ever attended in my life. Doubt anything will ever come close, especially considering the circumstances surrounding that postseason.

The Yankees won every game in the Bronx and they were huge for the city. Yeah, the parade would have been nice but those games were epic. George W Bush throwing out the first pitch in Yankee Stadium is iconic.

especially during their title run in the late 90's or 2000's Jeter was just magic in late game situations in the post season. He was going to find some way to get on base and he was going to come around to score. Just magic

Im not a Yankees fan, but I’m so impressed with how good they were in this time period and really throughout most of the franchise’s history. You’ve got to respect how they’ve been able to consistently win & have great success for so long. It would have been incredible for NYC to have a 4th consecutive Yankee championship in 2001 after the horrific tragedies a couple months before. Either way, this team should be one of the most beloved Yankee teams of all time. Even though they weren’t able to win the final game, they captured the heart of their city, its fans & a lot of the country during their run to the World Series

Yankee Stadium was insane, and I’d happily give up the huge concourses and nice bathrooms in the new stadium to have that kind of energy in the building itself again. It’s preposterous to me that the Bronx and Yankees didn’t come up with a way to preserve Yankee Stadium as a ballpark for the colleges in the area to use or something.

Little is still said about the fact Jeter was playing hurt. He got hurt diving into the stands of Game 5 of the ALDS against the A's. But he played 13 more games in pain. Today's game I don't even want to think about how they would have treated it.

For those who don’t know or remember: Jeter was really injured by this point. He had the most famous moment of his career in game 3 of the ALDS in Oakland with ‘the flip,’ keeping the Yankees season alive. In game 5 to help close out the A’s he made a catch and fell into the stands on his back. He was a shadow of himself after that, but he never complained and tried to hide it. You can really see it in the 9th of game 7 when Mo had his error that allowed David Dellucci to get to 2nd base; Jeter’s in agony there. It makes this moment even more special. What a player he was. What a team that was.

At the turn of the century, the old Yankee Stadium standards were very low for a Major League franchise (litter, safety, cleanliness...). Wise decision to built a fresh, brand new stadium; after all sports are supposed to represent youth.

I remember this game so well. I called this Home Run when Jeter walked up. My Dad and His Brothers were working the 9/11 Clean Up. So a bunch of my cousins were over. We were all in the basement playing wiffle ball, watching the game and just having fun. I said Hey Mom watch this. And like 2 pitches later, Boom it’s gone. I have never seen the City of New York so United. Was a great time to be a Nee Yorker.

Mr. November. How unique to be at the park and have that sign ready? For whoever's going to hit a homerun, ? Just strange all around. I'm a huge Yankees fan since 1995 but heads up to the man who wrote the sign. If it weren't for him Jeter wouldn't be Mr. November there's only one Mr. October and one Mr. November. They're both Yankees 👌👌👌👌👌👌 wow he mentions the sign before he is called Mr November.

Another meatball from Kim at about 89-90 mph, right over the plate for Jeter to tag out of the park (still a great at-bat though). Another iconic moment in World Series History (many of them in this series alone).

This happened when I was a new CT DOC Officer. I had one year on the job and was at roll call 1145pm to 12am for third shift. During roll call, we all heard all the 2nd shift Officer's getting read to go home screaming like maniacs at this hr. And then the very very next night, at the same exact time, it happened again, at 1145pm to 12am when Scott Brosiius with a HR tO left field. So the Yanks were up 3-2 and had to go to Az for game 6, and a possible game 7.

This series loss hurts me to the core, still. If I could give up 99 and 00 to win this series, I would take it. Reason being is all that the city went through, it would just be right with the Yanks winning it all that year.
