Ignition system tune up. How to replace the spark plugs on a 2002-2006 Toyota Camry 2.4L with a 4-cylinder engine.
**Spark Plug Gap** .039-.043" or 1.0-1.1mm (Iridium spark plugs come pre-gapped, but you can lightly insert a .040" feeler gauge between the electrode tips and check them for consistency or outliers. To decrease the gap, lightly tap the ground electrode on a hard surface. To increase the gap, delicately bend the ground electrode away from the center electrode with a pair of pliers.

I use zip ties and put in between the connector and lock. It works good.

Clean and concise; great vid 🍻. At the end, you mentioned a throttle body cleaning video for this vehicle--has it already been posted? Forgive me if I've overlooked it. I see the throttle body repair for the Jeep, but I've apparently overlooked the Camry one, if so. Thanks much.

With the dielectric grease, would it be good enough to just put a coat on the white ceramic part of the spark plug itself and not any on the coil boot? Then when the boot fits over it, the boot should end up with a thin coating and their will be no dielectric on the terminal/ post?

That's how its supposed to be done, I have no Clue why JAck just did that... I have never done that in 25 years of changing spark plugs.

Try searching this on Amazon and verify your model year. Should be right. "Denso 6731308 Ignition Coil , Gray". Denso is Toyota original equipment. Ignition coils can be hit or miss with inexpensive aftermarket brands, but you can get a pack of four for about the price of one Denso. Thanks for watching! is it necessary to do the coils at tune up intervals?

It would be proactive, but not necessary. High resistance from worn plugs or oil leaks are what take out coils. If the plugs are replaced at interval and the valve cover tube seals are in good health, the coils will last a long time.
