as a Kerryman... that was a hell of an Armagh team. pure quality... went to Dublin but couldnt get a ticket. watched it in The royal hotel,,, packed with kerry supporters... 2 armagh chaps... a father and a son. at the final whistle... we gathered ourselves and one by one shook hands with the armagh chaps.
My grandpa from South Armagh died the June before this game. Emigrated to America and never got to see his beloved Armagh win an all Ireland. I grew up playing at Gaelic Park and him watching me. I’d like to think he was up in heaven smiling when Armagh won. Tiocfaidh ar La grandpa.
Was at the final this year in 2024. Grew up hearing my father talk about this day, always dreamed of it and never thought it would happen again. Thank God I got to spend the 2024 All Ireland Final with my father at Croke Park.
I remember I had that Kerry jersey, the sport shops in Northern Ireland stocked a lot of southern county jerseys in those days before the O'Neills superstores opened. I wonder if you got Ulster county jerseys in the south.
Gole keeper not allowed too move off his Gole line until ball is struck, allowed too move along the line but not forward off it,should have been at least booked for it if not sent off I am a nururil bad hurrler and average footballer, but know the rules
You’ll never hear of celebrations or the amount of stories from an All Ireland win as you would from Armagh supporters from 02, never seen the likes of it
