That's a lot of bs for something you can just reach over and touch on the screen. :-) I know my new ATOTO has a remote for $20. But still a lot of bs for a remote control when we are 2 feet from the unit. :-) nice video though and very informative on how it works. Thank you.
thanks for the video im not replacing my head unit but i am puting in a wired fm modulator to add an aux line to the factory stereo. i had no idea how to get in to the stereo cavity. thanks again.
@3lijvhsweatin626 I'd did work, unfortunately I don't have the vehicle anymore. There are better options now though. They have bluetooth transmitters that will hook in to a cars aux ports on the cars head unit(not all have them), I would stay away from fm transmitters if you care anything about quality of sound.
I have an 05 Deville , my wiring harness is not attached , but the video of yours is the only one that shows the Orange wire in F1 and the White wire in F3 in the 32 Pin connecter . Is it possible you could either send me a photo showing the colors in the top and bottom . Or if you have or tell where I can get a diagram of where the wires go . My car has OnStar , but no Navigation , I don't know about the Bose if it does or doesn't have it . ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT < THANK YOU
Can you show me how to hook up the harness to your Pioneer radio I never seen you hook any of the the wires I'm lost here really trying to hook up my Pioneer radio I don't know where the wires go to the harness which wire to each other I thought it was color coded but I have colors that the other part doesn't have I don't know what to do
Hello iam trying to help a friend install his after market radio. He has a 2004 Cadillac Deville with bose sound system. But iam having trouble with the colors of the wires. We are trying to bypass the amp and the Gmos-06 to wire the speakers directly to the head unit any thing you can do to help is would be great!
I must advise against that! have you noticed all the idiot lights coming up in the dash yet? the lack of a gas gauge yet when the car is on? that wont stop until you integrate, NOT ELIMINATE the bose and dat in the factory sound system. get a gmos06, its the right way.
Ok thanks a lot when he bought the car it was already in there with the gmos-06 all I did was add a remote wire to the wire harness an then the unit never came back on. So I re connected everything with crimp connections because they where only electrical taped together. An then the unit came back on but had no sound. This is by far the worst install ever an now my friend thinks I messed it up.
i have a 99 seville SLS with the factor Bose 8 speaker surround sound and i want to add an amp and one more wooffer in the in the rear where the existing wooffer is and split them in the rear window area. can anyone tell me if this is possible and what it intails. im pretty lame when it comes to car audio.
Hey Lessco My new head unit's harness includes a wire that is for steering wheel controls, does that mean it will wire into the GMOS-06 directly and I will not need to buy a SWI-RC interface ?
Lessco Electronics Did you use the GMOS-6 on your install or does the PAC swi-rc steering wheel control adapter PLUS the 70-2001 harness work the same as gmos.
I have a base deville 02 with non Bose system , I believe it is amplified ? It has a factory sub . Do I need the gmos-06 or is there another harness I can use ? I could care less about on star or chimes .
Erik An Hector I'm proble to late to help but you do want the piece its not just chimes gas gauge security engine temp open doors wutever problem chimes will go unnoticed. Honestly I cant say if the amp will work without it but I got 02 Deville and with the piece of shit metra gmod-06 the sound fades in n out the front speakers and the back speakers constant amp code of U1000.frustrating as fuck. If you do get and use an interface get extra wire inbetween interface and radio factory radio is super snug fit and with extra device wires and unused connectors you will have to cut a grip of shit out the way for 2Din or non flip out dvd player flip out will block gear on the tree shifter under the dash and directly behind the radio/ashtray on other side of aluminium like metal in middle of pedals and passenger feet there is space keep the interface there running wire further is 100x easier with less cutting u will still have room there for those new mini amps or small 4 channel you can run front door n a-arm tweeters off the radio n amp back door speakers n front deck speaker n stock 10" (dual voice coil) sub speaker wire n a power from under back seat is all u will need to run other power ground rcas are already wit radio on if you dont use piece i believe you have to bypass amp you really dont want to take back seat apart to get to factory amp n wires bolts in car an trunk its a super bitch i converted my ashtray to switches for dvd play n drive trick n power switch 4 neons an headrest dvd screens installing flip down screen now for XBone 1st time dealing with headliner n taking half the interior apart maybe I should record it for others Caddy info n guidance is remarkably almost impossible to find Good Luck
I have a 2003 Cadillac deville base model sedan. it has onstar and phone system, and an amplifier system that has a subwoofer and center speaker in dash as well as two dome tweeters. I want to install a aftermarket sub. I don't really care to retain the onstar, but which wiring harness do I need? the only one I could find costs about $90. is there any cheaper out there? thankx. I'd really like to know.
I hate to bust your balls after you were nice enuff to make this vid but in the respect of knowledge I have to tell you the security in the radio you were speaking of only applies to putting it in other vehicles the radio has unique a code that is programmed in n does not change That radio or one a person pulls out will go right back in to the same Lac and work instantly even if its been out for 10 years and both the car n radio had no power the whole time. A different stock Lac radio will not work in it without goin to dealer n doin code thing Good Job tho thanks not enuff lac info for ppl DIY custom mods even with world wide webs endless knowledge finding the wire diagram for bundle coming off the stock amp is a huge never ending circle of fails it makes the web no bigger then the garage your workin in
I debated for 3 days what to do.. Finally i just said fuck it i will relocate the factory radio to the glove box an leave turned off. I have a 2002 deville. I cut the factory harness extended the wires.. U do not have to extend any speaker wires but their is a blk an white wire on the speaker wire side.. Make sure u put the purple wires to the right purple wire or the gas an temp gauge wont work. Also ran the speaker wires from the back seat to bypass the factory amp.. Even tho their is no bose their is still a factory amp. Run your hot wire from factory harness along with the ground.. You will need to run a ingnition wire from the fuse box. 10 bucks an a few hrs. Later waaa laaaa
I thought you need a gmos 06 or something like that for the Cadillac Deville. I have 2003 bose deville and I don’t want to spend the money on a 75+ wiring harness would this one work?
Hey Lessco! Great video. How did you actually mount the mounting bracket to the car? Did you use the clips from the stock radio or drill holes. The metra instructions are horrible. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
I have a 98 deville. I hooked up a aftermarket head unit, had to wire it straight to the battery and found a fuse for the 12v cut off. I’m having problems my battery draining only since the stereo was replaced. Any idea what might be going on?
I have an 2003 seville with non base but factory amplifier and subwoofer, how do I retain factory amplifier sub and speakers is there a specific harness I need?
I have a new head unit that says it has the swi built in how would I install that into my 03 deville and will I still need another interface because of onstar? Head unit has swi1 swi2 and swi ground wires in the harness I just don't kno where to put them
romeo smith you still need the styeering wheel adapter, the radio can be swi ready, but on its own, its just ready, dont confuse that with built in control capability
Hey Lessco quick question. If I have everything hooked up and the sound it extremely low. Any ideas what it could be? I have it turned up all the way and can hear music but low. Thanks in advance
I did the same thing but the wires dont match for anthing all i heard was a little movement in the radio and no illumination Same car sane harness do you know why??
So where did you buy the single deck mount? I am goint to install a double din Pioneer head unit but i would like it to fit Flush. How much would that cost?
Hi, I have an 03 deville NON bose with OnStar. I would like to install a pioneer double din with bluetooth. I was told today at the audio shop that I would need a 15 dollar harness but you recommend OnStar users buy gmo-06. I cannot make sense those two opinions because the GMO-06 seems considerably more expensive than $15. Thanks in advance for all the help dude and for making the video It has helped a lot of people!
+Ricardo Perez-Dulzaides the gmos has some advantages like doorchime and vehicle door turn off delay etc.. you lose that with the lesser expensive parts
+Lessco Electronics thank you sir, I ended up going back to the shop and they agreed the GMO-06 was the best option to keep onstar and those other features that you mentioned. Thanks again
Ricardo Perez-Dulzaides I have a 03 deville with stock bose with a gmos 06 interface but for some reason my sound will cut out for a couple seconds then come back on any idea what it could be or if I need a more exspensive interface ??
Hello. i have a 2003 deville non bose. i thought i needed a gmos-06 adapter. can i get away with this and a regular harness. and if so will i keep my factory chimes
Have a question .I have a 04 Deville the factory sub won't turn on took it out and now want to install a new one aby insight would be helpful as to y it won't turn on is greatly appreciated
The sub amp needs to "see" a load on the speaker terminals lower than 4 ohms to turn on. Had the same issue when adding a sub and amp to mine with a line level converter. Added 2-5 ohm resistors, one for each pair of terminals to simulate speakers being connected.
conebread58, what year is your Deville? I just installed a double din Kenwood in my 2001, and had to use the GMOS-06 interface so everything worked properly. I also installed the Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control interface.Did you use an interfaces? Maybe a fuse is blown.
@@tripzuki7462 nah I just got the wiring harness shown in the video w/out the interface but the symptoms I ended up having are the same ones on the car in the video. I have been looking at the GMOS-06 interface though, the reviews on crutchfield and amazon all look good I just can't afford it at the moment. My Deville is a 2002.
Hey Lessco, I was told that there was a way to tap into the factory amp turn on wire in order to bypass getting GMOS-06 adapter and still get the premium sound.... Any thoughts? If so, what color wire/location for 2001 Cadillac Deville? Thanks in advance
