What brand risers are those? I purchased a set of v factor 9 inch rise with a 1 1/2 pullback. Think I'll get by with that extra inch? Sharp looking bike! Gonna paint my forks and triple trees black on my 05 Nightrain.
They're from Drag Specialties. I'm not sure if you'll have enough slack for those, it'll probably be pretty tight. Painting the forks made a huge difference!
This is good walk around and pretty informative. I just bought a 2000 night train as a wholesale deal that was pretty extensively modified by the previous owner before they lost it to repo. This helped me identify some of what has been done to it and what was factory.
Really lovely looking Night Train. The risers look good. Mirrors are the first other than standard that i like. What you did with the front forks is neat - good idea! Glad you mentioned that Amazon headlight purchase! Living in South Africa everything you guys say is expensive is just outrageous here. So thats useful info - thanks! My NT is an '07 model. Bought it with less than 3000 miles on the clock in Jan '21. A miracle! Like to put 10" slightly bent risers on it. I suspect the ride & rear vision will improve (& maybe if there is a god i will look cooler!). Going to look at that headlight right now as well. Thanks twice! Great Bike! Great Taste! Great looking ride! Im currently doing the hydraulic cam tensioner upgrade to my train. I replaced the spring tensioners 10k ago and again the tensioners were wore out during my last inspection. Sucks to have the bike down, but we’re non stop storms in California right now anyhow.
Canadian Gearhead no, not at all. If you have a mechanical background and the shop manual, it’s a piece of cake! Nothing I would pay a shop to do. The original spring tensioners are kryptonite to the bike. Everything done though, cam plate, oil pump, cams, tappets, adjustable pushrods, all new bearings etc. cost about $1,500.00. Expensive, but cheaper than the aftermath of failed tensioners.
