I have a 2000 s-10 and the interior is still beautiful, I've done some fix ups, replaced the sound system with some kenwood and kicker speakers, kenwood radio deck, got me some 12" subs sitting in there as well XD. Exterior is dented up like hell from hail, but that can be fixed. Love the s-10's. Idk why but they are just fun little trucks.
Just picked up a 2002 LS with the I4 with 130k on the dash. 1 owner, about the same condition, and same color! Still has the bed cover, too! Can't wait to hop I'm my little truck. Love the S-10
Me too. My grandfather used to have a second generation 1998 Chevy S10 regular cab with a leer topper bed shell. They were awesome reliable and fuel efficient trucks. I wish they still made them in the US Market along with the GMC Sonoma.
@@knowitall-chevrolet4229 Yup, with the ridiculous prices new trucks are going for nowadays people are appreciating these older trucks like the last generation of S10's much more now, especially ones with the 4.3 V6 and low miles/well cared for. l will be selling mine for close to the same price that Kyle listed the one in the video 11 years ago.
J Vlogs I’m planning on getting a new truck my 96 s10 has almost 300k miles on it, It was fun to drive but it will be nice to have something that can tow and give more room!
Idk why but there's something about these small trucks/suvs that makes me anxiously want one as a first car. the s10/Sonoma/Tacoma/ford(or mazda)ranger/blazer/Jimmy/Dakota (you get the idea). They just seem fun and versatile to drive.
I agree i like small trucks. My perfect truck though would be a Silverado/Sierra or an F150 with a V8, regular cab,2 door, shortest wheelbase, and short bed. V8 in a small and short truck just seems like fun and functionality.
+Angel Castillo I love how the S10 looks, it's not flawless though. The 2.2 engine tends to blow head gaskets, the 4.3 has plenty of power for the truck but sucks up gas like a V8, an as per usual GM the interior plastic feels like it's made out of tic-tac boxes and tupperware. Oh yeah, and the electrics will fry themselves after 100,000 miles, so says the glorious Freiburger.
I would consider it, as mine is my first car.. I bought a 96 4cyl 2wd for $1800. I replaced the radiator and a bad heated o2 sensor and it has given me no problems, runs good, and is great on gas. I drive back and forth to school and haven't put gas in it in almost 3 weeks and im still a little below 1/2 tank
I've got a 2002 S10 Sport ...it's got an Extreme suspension with Bilstein shocks all around & Split Manifold Magnaflow exhaust system twice pipes & chrome tips..
My S10 ABS just started giving me a lot of problems. Notorious for the abs and brake engine lights to go on and act up. Other than that sick ass little trucks! Love my S10.
+usvc1 yeah bro. Check your abs sensors could be that they're corroded and need to be replaced. My issue was a leak in my brake hose so air got into my brake system. If that's the case replace the hose and take your truck to get the air flushed.
he forgot to mention the most important thing, Its a ZQ8 package! comes w/sport suspension: comes with a rear sway bar and a sport swaybar in front. front has softer coils and rear leafs springs are softer. this is the same thing as an s10 Xtreme but w/out the ground fx. these trucks ride like a car but handle like a sports car. Also the steering wheel box is different on these, it take less turns to make a u-turn. comes with 16" wheels and they are wider
Nah me too. No matter how reliable technology is or how long a car battery lasts, i still lovethe convenience of a hand cranked window just to be on the safe side. Plus you know what they say "they don't make them like this anymore".
Upset that this has an automatic transmission. My dad bought the same truck the year I was born (2003), and it was the truck I learned to drive in. I grew up in a farm so I started driving when I was about six. The one we had is now sitting in our barnyard with weeds growing all around it. It will run, but not without more work then the truck itself is worth. I just wanted to get a truck that was exactly the same, sadly, it’s nearly impossible to find standards anymore.
The 4.3 was and still is a great motor. I wish it was used in the current Colorado. Although something I must mention, that car would not pass NC inspection cause of the straight piped exhaust. It sounds good though!
03 Extended Cab, 71k miles, CHARCOAL INTERIOR, ZQ8 suspension package (lowered 1.5" all around + .5" with the ZQ8 wheels), ZQ8 wheels in flawless condition along with the rest of the truck, I saw no rust, bed cover, 4.3L. What more could you ask for out of an s10? I paid $7000 for my 03 ZQ8 S10 with tan interior, 65k miles, 4.3L, surface rust all underneath, couple scratches, wheels had (worse now) road rash. Cost depends where you live. Id have taken that s10 as soon as I saw it for that price
The dome override button, press it quickly 4 times, and you'll hear a single "ding" sound indicating the running lights have been turned off. It's right next to the headlight switch you had mentioned. Just hit it 4 times again to turn it back on. The guy who previously responded doesn't know what he's talking about :p
Not worth the asking price.......after saving up for 3 years I finally bought my dream truck today....... 2000 S-10 LS Extended Cab .......it is perfect not a single bit of rust, only 63000 miles and its a 4x4........I payed $8000 inluding tax and title :) I love my truck
Apparently S-10 owners take better care of them because they hold their value-plus I notice way more of them on the road than Rangers or Tacoma's.It's like the Camaro & Mustang rivalry-still see the older Camaro's going back to the 80's but the only Mustangs are from the last 10 years.
Rangers are in the same price range, trucks hold their value. I'm getting this same model/year for 6100. It is a bit pricey for the year but I believe Chevy's are worth it, can't say the same about Rangers.
Can someone please tell me why Chevy chose to put a tachometer in the automatics but not the manuals🤦🏻♂️ really wish I could put the cluster from a automatic in mine but multiple people have told me it won’t work
I've got a 93 with the same motor its got 190k still going strong the only thing wrong is the heater fan is broke and a small tear in the drivers seat not too much body rust lot of dents its a little work truck
Patrik Johansson there are 2 style of zq8 wheels. these are available for the 2001-2003 model years. there is a 5 spoke style for earlier models I believe.
I love how people are saying it dies after 200,000 miles and that the interior falls apart at 130,000 well mine is a 2000 chevy s10 zr2 and the interior looks brand new and everything on the truck looks good very little rust engine has no problems it'll get up and go and it's at 194,000 miles so if you people are right about the engine dying at 200,000 then I got 6,000 miles to play with;) and I'm fixen to start working on mine and putting about $4000 worth of add ons and new exhaust and headers
Why don't you just you the dome overide button to turn off the lights, press it in and out a couple of times, pres it half way a few times you'll hear a bell sound.Paulypro
I have an ,03 just like that, love it but have had some terrible instrument cluster problems. A common issue, with chevys around that year .cheap wiring.
Damn, that sucks. Best bet would be a silverado, imo. I ended up getting the s10 and my cylinder started misfiring about 2 weeks ago. But from what I've heard my trucks been good to me compared to what problems other s10 owners had. Something about midsize trucks just throws me off in general.
