The 5.9 Liter Dodge Dakota R/T, with a factory sport exhaust, 4 wheel disc brakes, factory lowering springs, bigger sway bars, and chrome R/T wheels, the 2003 is the best and last year of the Dakota RT.
I love your truck! Thanks for sharing. I remember when mine was shiny and placing in the top 3 at Moroso car shows during Mopar events( modified stock class). I have a black 98 CC R/T, 112k that I bought off the showroom floor in 98. My paint is gone, I modified it alot from 99 to 2004. I had trans go on mine at 5k, dealership put in a new one. I had to rebuild my trans at 10k, this time I paid 1200 and had it modified for drag racing, no trans rebuild since, but I did do a trans fluid swap every 25 to 30k. I had a best time of 12.2 in the 1/4 at 118mph. 12lbs of boost for 50k of those miles, finally ahead gasket went on the passenger side, pulled the motor for rebuild to 408 cubes, ended up in a financial crisis, never got my motor back from the rebuild shop. I love my R/T. I ended up putting in a 5.9 out of a durango, been driving it ever since. I grew up and had kids... Stock power is ok now. I still have mods that make it quicker than stock but nothing like low 12s.I am going to do the full 2003 brake swap I got from pick and pull salvage yard soon. I fell out of the performance scene for years, so I just recently learned of the possibility of the brake swap... stock brakes were always inadequate.
