The forks and lower triple are from an 03 R1. The upper triple is from a newer Fz08. The stem was made by a machinist in Canada who only made a few of them to specifically fit the aforementioned parts. Installing this setup made the front end slightly lower but I also have an R6 rear shock with different dog bones so it worked out really well. I love the way it handles. Definitely not an R1, but to me the perfect mix of the two. Now, if I only had fuel injection! :-)
@@xaviorpackett4359 I also bought a 2002 FZ1, years and years later, I still have it! I love that bike. It's still a great bike. After mods and tuning, it puts down 149rwhp which is enough to annihilate any 600 supersport in stop light wars and many liter bikes with inexperienced riders. Did you sell yours, drop it, or still have it?
@@xaviorpackett4359 If you need modification help, then let me know. I've made a ton of mods to mine including a custom rear shock from an R6, R1 gear shifter, airbox elimination, ported intake, and many engine mods. Check out the website Yamahafz1oa.com for great info. With info from that site and parts ordered through it's members, I'm getting about 150hp at the rear wheel and this is at 5000' above sea level.
