Spark plug boot came loose the other day on the way to work. With just over 150k miles on this 2003 Galant it was time to replace them and make sure that everything is in good shape. I've put the last 60k on this car, so don't know for sure when the last time they were changed.
This was way easier than it looked like at first. I've never worked on the COP (Coil over Plug) type of ignition system before, so when that plug wire came off it definitely caught me off guard.
Car is running great! I will give an update on the mileage (which I have been tracking closely for the last couple of months) once I run a few tanks through it with the new and properly gapped plugs.
Total cost for plugs and all 4 wires from Rock Auto was $42.46 plus shipping. They have several brands and levels of "quality" to choose from, so get what you feel is the best fit for your project. Watch what you order. Not all of them are sets of 4 like this one was.
