Okay let me catch everyone up. I never officially dynod after e85 and 13psi. This at the time was stock engine and 93 pump gas. I tried methanol tuning and blew stock engine. Then found some 800cc injectors that were a direct fit minus splicing the harnesses in. They were injector clinic brand for strokes build evo 8s. I rebuilt the motor went to port big valve head to find the 2.3 liter valves longer than the 2.0. They have the exact same cams so I imagine the head is taller. I scratch the valve job and installed titanium seats and ported/throated the intake and exhaust side. Also installed b18 carillo forged pistons everything else was stock aside from changing the stock rods to floater wrist pin style. Which was only boring the rod for the pin. The car ran happy mid 13s on 205/50/15s and no traction bar. Also open differential so first gear was useless. I parted and sold the car as priorities changed in life. (I had a baby). devilsword now owns the kit awaiting install on a 2.3 with cams. I pulled neck and neck with a high 12s camaro on the highway so I was around there figuratively speaking had I ever spent the thousands on a custom LSD and axles. The crank and flywheel are also to weak to go over 350hp sadly. I figure based on my weight and 0-60 of 4.5 seconds I was around 320fttq and 290whp. Check my street launch video to see how hard she pulled with more boost and e85. All parts were name brand stuff, do not cut corners ever on a power build like this. Pushing 200% stock hp is high risk as it is. I logged over 20,000 miles hard driving and drag racing on her in about 8 months with no issues other than occasional gear binding in shifting. Eventually wore 5th out and it would pop out when off the throttle.
what turbo did you add to your car if you remember, and was it worth the extra work and money in an aerio? I have an 06 and was thinking about doing this.
Yankee Deer Hunter the 06, 2.3 has higher compression and not sure what pistons fit. the 2.0 I had is the same piston size as the b18 so I had a lot of choices for pistons. even the same wrist pin size. If I could go back I'd probably not do it again. while it was fun having something unique and special the headaches of trial and error combined with the costs associated made it not worth it. there is no aftermarket support. This was done just because I thought it would be a good learning experience. I almost had the car sponsored by my Suzuki dealer then a month before a contract they announced they were closing down. That's pretty much when I lost interest, it's hard to get OEM parts as much as it is to get aftermarket.
rcd15987 I welded into the front of the oil pan. just below the mating surface. and had the bung angled slightly down. the OEM oil pan is aluminum so find an aluminum bung cut it at the npt thread just leave the hex/an part on it.
@@superfly1842 what would you suggest for a setup on a 2.3l with low boost no more than 7psi. I really dont want to tune or flash. Looking for a cheap setup to run in a geo tracker. 5psi is even exceptable the whole goal is reliable and low budget.
+superfly1842 Yeah i would totally love an 05-07 bumper.. the kit one is kinda too much IMO.. your car wasnt 100% ready for that turbo bro.. thats why it failed. I got both the splash guards for mine, going to try and put them on.. get this i went and lowered my idle rpm.. and i think i freakin unhooked my AC.. it just stopped working >
Unless you bumped the sensor under the passenger headlight you couldn't do anything to affect the AC. There is a AC pressure switch which allows it to condense if it's not reading it won't kick on.
Andrés Ignacio I would say it is, I have one of those cars and it’s almost impossible to find parts for it, especially aftermarket performance, a lot of stuff you have to make custom, he probably made a custom manifold for it because I’ve never seen a 3 bolt turbo flange
