I could smoke him on the launch. He spins too much and over revs wasting valuable time. I would love to race this guy with our shitboxes. I currently have busted internals in my 12v vr6 gearbox. I believe the gears and syncros are fine. It seem like the shift shaft broke inside the tranny, the one that puts the shifter motion from the gear selector tower to the shift fork inside the case. I got a 1.8t tranny for it now so it should pull harder now with 3.938 final drive instead of 3.389

Did you ever have to replace the manual transmission oil? VW keeps telling me not to ever touch the tranny oil! They said, and I quote, "its good for the lifetime of the car." I've had my '03 GTI VR6 for nineteen years thus far, and the 6-speed manual still shifts cleanly and crisply! Hard to believe... must be some special kind of transmission oil in there!
