- I-O ... Ohio State has established clear dominance over TTUN, Oregon, Oklahoma, Clemson, USC, Georgia, Texas, and ND... now we just need to establish more clear dominance over EbbTide...
@BeatingMySonYT - Ohio State blew Clemson away past two seasons... although SECupcake refs saved them from a shutout in 2019... didn't want Ohio State beating their LSU in the next game... wanted weak Clemson in that game...
@BeatingMySonYT - OSU was in process of shutting out Clemson 42 - 0 before the SECupcake refs stepped in a dozen times... and OSU likely would have beaten LSU as well... but thanks to usual SECupcakes corruption we'll never know for sure...
This game was a.) the coming-out party for the teams w/Troy Smith, Ted Ginn, AJ Hawk and Co, and b.) the game that showed that Jim Tressel genuinely had Michigan's number.
Santonio Holmes and Ted Ginn Jr. Bobby Carpenter & A.J. Hawk . One of my favorites ever , Donte Whitner . Mike Nugent & Heisman winner Troy Smith . All these guys went to the league , as well as others .
hope youve enjoyed the last 3 years. you had to watch michigan stomp you 3 straight times and end back to back undefeated seasons, then you had to watch michigan win the natty. hahahahahahahahaha
I was at this game!!! Oh my goodness I'll never forget it. Probably the first and last OSU v. Mich. game I'll ever attend, but it was one for the ages. Predicted to get blown out but we won BIG.
I was out at my tailgate party in one of the parking lots on the Ag campus! My buddy I shared season tickets with had taken his wife to the game, and I was watching it on satellite from our tailgating trailer. That was back when we could afford the Buckeye Club dues and season tickets. Eventually got too expensive and he had to let them go. I did fly down for the Alamo Bowl to watch the Bucks squash Oklahoma State!
They had Edwards, Avant, Breaston and Arrington at WR!!! Mike Hart was a terror too. Chad Henne was a really good QB too. I’m a Buckeyes fan but that team was scary!
@@durgs659 I’m still considering the 2020 season a win for the buckeyes! We all know Ryan day would have been right. The buckeyes would have put 100 on that team up north!
@@ramtruck21 i agree, but since it got cancel that's a win for blue. We sucked last year. OSU will win a NC next year or the year after. I'm waiting for another scandal, thats what's gonna save us lol
Back breaker was Ginn’s Punt return for a TD in the 3rd quarter followed by the defense intercepting Henne at the goal line a short time later. The scUM weasels had an amazing throw and catch later to Edwards, but it was too little too late. Who knew that in the 16 years games following this, scUM would only win just once? Amazing.
It's amazing how one-sided the rivalry was from 1985-2003, Michigan completely owned Ohio State during that span, and then from 2004-2020 it was complete Ohio State dominance. It's too early to call but it looks like the rivalry will be competitive again for the first time since the 80's. I hope so, one-sided rivalries are boring.
Crazy how much this game was forgotten just because that sucky record but it was crazy not knowing what happens in this game but then as I'm watching it everything starts goin back into my memory
The beauty of this rivalry is it's unpredictability. It seems half of these games are upsets. I can't forget Woody coming up to A2 for a dinner long after he retired. The maize and blue loved him then. What would these two teams be without each other? The best rivalry ever.
been a Buckeye fan since I was 5 (1995)...I've seen the seemingly unachievable task of beating TTUN under Cooper, to flipping the script under Tressel, to the one year blunder under Fickell, to dominating under Urban and back to back disappointments under Day....this is the third most satisfying conclusion for me in that time behind 2001 and 2006
How did a team with THAT linebacker crew, and Troy Smith throwing to Gonzales, Holmes, and Ginn lose 4 games that year?? Thank goodness a win over a highly ranked Michigan team was able to salvage that season. The talent to win ratio was lacklustre looking back on that squad, otherwise.
@@michaelgladman9087 I was hoping the lad would come to that conclusion after a Google haha. The last time they lost before 2004 was like 1971. OSU does not lose to NW regularly. Yeah. Michigan was flat out unprepared for Smith. Santonio Holmes too. He made Marlin Jackson look like a child.
At the time it really was... this is where tressel started to separate the rivalry especially in this game with Osu being an unranked underdog at home against a top 10 Michigan team
The funny thing is that I have never seen this game. I was barely 4 when this actually happened. I know for a fact Ohio State won. This is not a rivalry anymore. Michigan has beaten Ohio State once in my cognitive existence and it was a transition year that no one even cared about
The 04 Big 10 race was so wacky that Michigan was already locked into Pasadena going into this game. (Purdue’s collapse and undefeated Wisconsin faltering late)
Now I remember this year ohio state fans heard nothing but bs that we suck from wishagain fans because our record then we beat them hahaha they thought t hi is game was gonna be easy
If M spent more time tackling instead of ball stripping they might win more games. My coach told us if someone put a hand on the ball instead of tackling you...reach down, grab a finger, and break it. Some reason they stopped trying to strip the ball.
Not a Michigan fan but I definitely miss the Henne, Hart and Edwards team! I graduated HS 05 and that when I was really a hardcore football fan, so these players from 2000-2006 I always be fans of
Yep, the greatest recruiting class in Michigan history went skunk against Ohio State, lost at home to JV team Appy State while being ranked in the top 5 at home, and lost Lloyd Carr his job! Lmfao!!! 🤣🤣🤣
What’s funny is how Ohio State was the team to beat and all the OSU fans really think OSU is untouchable haha guess who is not playing for a National Title opportunity this year yea you got that right O-S-U this year just made the point Michigan fans have been screaming for years without the U of M no one would take Ohio State seriously!
Ahh yes, the good old days when we actually played defense. I can't be the only one who skips over the TTUN annoying fight song every time it's played.
I really don't miss Lloyd Carr at all he had so many talented teams yet blow it with his conservative style of coaching and getting outcoached by Jim Tressel. This game didn't end up meaning anything in the short term as Michigan still won the B1G & went to the Rose Bowl but what it did do is start the OSU dominant run in the rivalry and that was all Lloyds fault. Thank God Jim Harbaugh has turned the rivalry around now and is starting to beat them again but we shouldn't have lost this game. Michigan was the better and more talented team.
