I just bought a 2006 GRS184 athlete from Japan I can't wait to get it, I was able to find one with night vision, which will be good for driving in rural BC in the middle of winter

The corrosion on the hood looks like filiform corrosion. That hood is probably aluminum and has some moisture ingress under the paint. EDIT: High five!

Does the Canadian owner have to change the oem radio to get signal or not?

You can buy a box that plugs into the factory head unit that gives you apple car play so there's no need for radio

no but the frequency is limited, you can only go up to 90hz

What do folks do in regard to part's after they purchase JDM in Canada?

The Toyota jdm cars share a lot of parts (suspension, engine, electrical) with North American Toyotas. I use toyodiy and amayama to cross reference parts and then order in store locally or online. Body parts are the issue but sometimes you get find wrecked jdms at the junk yards.

This Crown is a close relative of the Lexus GS so the owner would just have to buy GS parts if they're compatible. Otherwise, they can buy exclusive parts online

stock up on body, and interior. if you want aftermarket parts, then slowly ball out.
