The one reason I can think of is rust. If you keep up with the timing belt on the 3MZ and flush the fluid on the U151 transmission regularly, these are proven to run to 200k consistently and 20 years later I still see them everywhere.
I remember seeing these back in the day. They looked modern compared to a lot of mini vans on the road. In 2005 I was driving a 2002 Chevy venture. It was pretty outdated by that point.
Ironic you say that because the Toyota design didn't age well. The new for 2004/05 Odyssey and Freestar both still look very good even today to point where non car ppl never know they are 20 years old. The venture looks good to this day and has a nice clean aero look but sadly safety isn't great on them compared to Ford, Honda and Toyota.
@@workingcountry1776You misunderstood me. I said the Venture was outdated by 2002. I didn't really like it. When buying a vehicle with credit you take what you can get though. It was the Venture or sedans. I took the van.
@@bidenisapedo90 No no no. I have 2005 CE, which 2004-2006 are exactly the same, all trim levels (CE, SE, XLE and Limited). 2WD (NOT AWD) had a spare tire on passager side below the sliding door. They also had a recall in the early days as the support cable was not safe, we had to put the spare tire inside behind the 3rd row, the time Toyota find a solution and make that official and then I had to go back to the dealership to have the support cable replaced and put the spare tire back where it was meant to be.
