What's up everybody!
This is a DIY how-to on replacing the front struts on a 2005-2012 3rd gen. Nissan Pathfinder. Torque Specs included.
*DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a Master Tech, just a long time wrencher.
Truck in video is a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4WD.

Great and simple video. You did a good job of showing everything and explaining it. I have done this before on my Frontier, but need to do it again and from the looks of those, you should replace the sway bar links too. Those look worn out as well. I did not change mine the first time and a few days later when I made a sharp turn I heard a pop and found that one broke in half. Being a "RU-vid" engineer is great with these types of videos, thank you.

Appreciate the comment. Not my vehicle though. But I did suggest the owner for us to do the sway bars in the near future. Just did VCG & plugs on it (vid coming soon)…although currently needs a driver side axle desperately, that’s probably going to be next up for the customer.

Well done sir! Why do all the vids i watch replace the entire assy and not just the shock? The shock is so much less expensive.

Appreciate it! And its wayy easier. Personally, I’ll spend the extra money to avoid the potentially dangerous task of compressing the spring and swapping over. It’s just way less hassle & everything is new!

Well 1:18 it may be easier, but triples the cost

@@BK-xh4ys May well be true, but I've rebuilt front ends, and compressing the spring with the clamps on both sides of the spring is SCARY. It usually well, if it goes wrong and one of the two clamps slips, you DON'T want to be around.

I just did mine, i put in kyb oem struts, isnt it supposed to level out? Right? Why is the front end 2"higher like i just put in a lift kit? Is that normal?

It does take some time for new struts/springs to settle. Idk bout 2 inches lol but typically they will be a bit higher and settle in
