It was one of tge most memorable and emotional times of my life. My father is a retired Chicago Police officer and never in mine or my 5 siblings lives had we ever seen my father cry. At 4:14 is the exact moment my brother and I witnessed my father cry. Thank you Scott Podsednik for your game 2 home run. I'm proud to say I was there. Not only to witness the home run but the tears of my father.
cuz they always on the Southside talkin' shit about us like we suck and they was talkin' shit about Jay Cutler. How do they have anything to say when they at the bottom of the fuckin' food chain? That's like Justin Beiber tellin' Eminem he sucks at rap.
Jack Duggan hopefully we have the talent like yolmer sanchez, yohan moncada and jose abreu and stuff just gotta come together as a team and show Chicago we are done just yet
One of the most impressive teams I've ever seen, and it pained me to see them defeat my Red Sox like they did in the ALDS but a lot of respect, I hope they can become this good again.
I was 5 when the Sox won the world series. I loved that team. Joe Crede, Jermaine Dye, Mark Buherle, AJ Pierzinski, Paul Konerko, and the rest of them. Too bad the Sox can't live up to they're former glory now.
I can mention how this was a memorable moment for myself, my father, and my uncle, but it makes me remember how angry I was that Kenny ruined a beautiful team. It makes me so sad that we were robbed of a dynasty for "his" stupidity. I will forever hate that "man" as a result. "He" did not create the 2005 White Sox, but "he" sure did destroy them.
I was a junior in high school when we won the series. I had grown up watching sports but that was when I was starting to really get into it, knowing players' names and personalities and playing styles. That's why they were and are such a special group to me, in addition to winning it all. Miss Jenks to death; I put "Boom" by POD on my iPod and I listen to it all the time. I will cry when Konerko and Pierzynski leave. White Sox love forever.
i was working in Wrigleyville during this as a life long North Side Sox fan... it was so awesome and yes i cried..... this video damn near made me cry again... but i have to ding you on one thing.... Wheres the Journey man?!?!?!!?!? but yes i saw the Bears win the Superbowl when i was a kid, ive seen the White Sox win a World Series and the Blackhawks win a Stanley Cup. i can die happy, but id be happier if i saw all 3 again =D
The one thing that my grandfather told my father and me that he wanted to see the bears win the super bowl and the white sox win the world series. well obviously the bears won and they won before i was born, but he got a chance to see the sox win the series. he died in april of 2006. it makes me cry everytime. im happy he got a chance to see it. the white sox mean more to my family than just a favorite team
Jim Thome was not on the 2005 White Sox if he was the Sox would have never won, he is a stat padding bum and a 2 time World Series loser with Cleveland. Matt Thornton was also not on the 2005 White Sox. Finally, Carlton Fisk was not on the 2005 White Sox roster either I just wanted to clarify that before you add him to the WS team of 05!
I just love this, i am all about the sox....a lot of people i know hate baseball and may not pay attention until the post season but i could always watch a game whenever wherever, idk why i just love it, baseball and the sox are more than just a game to me, i can't wait for october COME ON FIRST PLACE SOX!!!!
is it me or does my hometown chicago always produce some of the greatest sports teams of al time ? first it was the white sox bakc in liek the 30 or sumthing the cubs -_- in like 1909 or sumthing who the hell cares about them the ebars in 85 greatest football team to ever excist and the 1990's bulls and 2005 white sox the 2010 hawks and soon to be 2012 and up bulls
I have seen every Chicago team win a championship except for the Bears and the Cubs. I'm doubting if I can say that I have seen the Bulls win the NBA Finals since I was 8 at the time and had little interest in sports and can barely remember their last game. :(
We are the White Sox, the Almighty White Sox. We were 3rd, came up in 2nd behind the Tribe, snuck into first, held the streak, fell to the Tigers and stole 1st place back. LIKE if you believe that out Southsiders can and most likely will do it again. #Chicago White Sox
2005 Crede's walk-off HR keeps Sox in first. They lose to same Indians next game. 2012 Dunn's dingers keep Sox in first. They lose to same Indians next game. Love the video, love the song, love the Sox ... but this ain't 2005. Hope I'm wrong.
For sure. That's partly why they swept the teams they were up against in the WS And I give a ton of credit to that 07 Boson team bc they both battled back from being down 3-1 to Cle in the ALCS, and beat the hottest team in baseball in 4 games in the WS
It's called a rivalry for a reason, now chillax. xD Nothing wrong with a little trash talking every nowadays. Kinda hard to believe cubs fans talk shiz about jay cutler. but eh, whatever. It's not like the bears play on the south side.
Wow... somebody is mad. Too bad 95% of the crowd at a Cubs game couldn't name half of the roster. If you want to go to a party, go to Wrigley (very fun, not going to lie), but if you want to watch real baseball, visit the south side.
Great memories, i was only in 4th grade... i watched almost every game that season. I miss these days, i wish they coulda lasted a few years, its sad they were only good in 05 then finally made it back in 08 and now probably not gonna make it in 2011
My father loved baseball, he was a big White Sox fan. Because of him I love this game, still play it at 44. He was able to see them win in 2005, he died just a year an a half later
SOX PRIDE!!!!!runs thru the family! My uncle was at one of the world serious games his dad was a sox fan and he put some dirt from his dads grave on the field . GOoOo SoX!!!!!!!!!!!
Should be showing the Doug Eddings blown call and all of the bnlon calls during the 2005 playoff series against the Angels-that ump crew should have been the real mvp's of that series
We can do it this year. We may have 10+ rookies, but this squad has the right attitude (thank you Robin). Screw the critics, the 2012 White Sox are a damn good baseball team.
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YA EVERYTIME I SEE THIS I CRIE TEARS OF JOY THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS 5 I MISSED MY KINDERGARDEN GRADUATION FOR THIS
Well it was also a sweep...As good as every single game in the series was, a sweep = forgettable. Just like 2007 World Series rarely gets discussed now.
Damn, why you gotta be so harsh on the cubs? Lmao Those fans stay faithful, even though it's been over a century since the last time they won something.
the play (s) of the year were when the Sox beat Cleveland to remain in first place. Crede hit a home run to tie, then a walk-off home run in extra innings. Uribe threw out Coco Crisp from shallow left field on a ball hit in the hole. I wish I still had the highlight clips from that game !!!!!!!
Chicago is our town!!! i am so proud to be a White Sox fan only favorite pro team to actually win a Championship!! i love you guys lets get another one go SOX!!
The cubs are better than the white sox, look at this stats: CUBS 2 WS, 16 NL pennants, 3 central div titles, 2 east div titles, 1 wild card berth. The white sox 3 WS, 6 AL pennants, 3 central div titles, 2 west div titles.
Chills went down my spine watching that final out. That was the greatest day ever. I wish this series got more recognition for how great it was. Even though it was a sweep they were some of the best games that were ever played in the world series. You had a walkoff, a 13 inning game, and possibly the best pitchers duel of all time in the postseason
