I wanted to leave you guys a huge THANK YOU for this video and its easy-to-follow instructions! I installed my CR Trail Edition sliders this weekend and it went as described. Took me a little over three hours and I did it myself with the help of this video! I love the sliders and this video is excellently done! Keep up the great work!
I have a 2023 Tacoma and just installed these. A couple items for those who get the bed liner finish. For the bolts to fit through the slotted holes in the rock sliders you will need to file down the coating inside the slotted holes for the bolts to slide through. The coating makes the slotted holes smaller and restricts the bolts from sliding through. I used a rotary tool from Harbor Freight with a stone bit to remove some of the finish that spilled into the slotted holes. One item he missed installing back into it's original place was the plastic cover behind the brake line on the drivers side. It just slides back into place and the bolt goes into the original hole. Also there's no hole in the slider face plate to install the top wire harness clip, just the bottom, but it should hold ok. On the drivers side, the rear faceplate bolt interferes with two break lines on the back of the frame, so you will need to snap them off from the clip to get the bolt in (this may be different on other models). I also flipped this bolt so it was installed with the head on the backside of the frame like the break line bolt at front since the threads pushed the break lines out. I added a piece of rubber tubbing over the break lines to keep them rubbing up against the bolt head and then pushed them back into the clip. Also, for those who don't have a helper, I used two jacks with small pieces of plywood to raise & support the slider and position it for the 14mm bolt. The jacks also helped level the sliders later. Other than a few adjustments the install went well and the video was a great help.
Great instructional video! I got everything installed pretty easy...except those front end bolts into the handle bracket. That was kind of a pain in the ahh...who cares, it worked out fine. I've been looking forward to getting these things for a while, and cant wait to get them all dinged up. Thanks Cali Raised LED!
There are some notable differences between installation on this DCSB and the DCLB models that can cause some confusion. I posted a video about these differences on my channel. Don’t hate on the quality - I’m not a content creator by any stretch! But you’ll at least have a video reference showing specifically which bolts go where, and what’s different about the DCLB install.
@CaliRaisedLED, you should be paying this man to do your install videos. It is an absolute shame that your video left me high and dry halfway through the install yet this customer was able to do what you should've done in the first place.
Thumbs up. Solo work, so I'm going slow. 2021 Double Cab Long Bed. So slightly different than the video. The Center bolt (install this first) is not in the same location, there are two slots, on matched my frame. Used a 3/8" bolt to hold the slider up in place. For those two forward bolts, safety wire is your friend. Feed wire through the hole towards the rear, loop, and twist around a bolt. Now you can pull that wire back through, that bolt holds that long paddle ting in place. Snug, twist safety wire, now you can use one hand to move that paddle up and down while starting the other bolt. Flashlight resting on the slider helps see what you are doing.
just installed these on my double-cab long bed, you guys should really make a separate tutorial for them! most of the rear half of the slider is very different. The furthest forward 1/2" bolt that was parallel to the ground did not fit in any of the stock holes on the truck. I resorted to washer stacking the 3/8" then 1/2" washers on the 3/8" bolts and using them instead, as I did not want to clearance the hole in the frame to be big enough for the 1/2" bolt. Lastly, the center bolts that you put in first, that uses the OEM 14mm, is not used. Installation was completely different. I also had quite a bit of left over hardware, not something you should want on something designed to support the trucks weight. Absolutely no complaints with the product itself however, once I got all the bolts I could in, it feels stout, well made, and shipped fast.
Recently we made a instruction pamphlet for the double cab long bed. We really appreciate the feedback and are glad that you like the product. Our goal is to make everything as easy as possible for the customer to ensure they get the best experience possible.
Thank you so much for the video! I followed all your steps and I did! Great price for what I got! I just recommend to use globes... just a few scratches in my hand lol :)
The first bolt they said to put in the oval hole doesn't line up at all so I'm not sure if they made it right or I'm supposed to drill into my frame. Plus why are there no install instructions smh.
Just wondering, I want rock sliders that will also protect the doors from being hit by others opening the doors in a parking lot. Do these stick out further than the door? If not then I might try and grab the step rock sliders please lmk
Just a quick question. I bought rock sliders as well as the complete underside skid plates. Do you recommend installing the sliders first before the skids? or vice versa? thanks in advance!
What exactly are the square clip screws called?? I did NOT receive any and my truck has been sitting for days!!! I ordered through Amazon and they’re too small. Extremely frustrating. I called and emailed Cali Raised… Went through Tacoma Lifestyle but they stopped responding. Last email was they were going to reach out to CALI RAISED 😤
Man you sure have to remove alot of stuff to install these rock sliders, with the CBI sliders you dont have to remove as many things to install them and they dont require any cutting either.
You really only have to remove stuff on the driver side. The slider only takes about an hour to install. I think its worth it for it being the strongest 100% Bolt on slider on the market. They blow all the other companies sliders out of the water.
Trust me i have the trail edition rock sliders for the tundra. Spend more money buy something else. These videos are horrible they leave out so much information
@@sin4459 Yeah I ended up getting some RCI Rock Sliders and ran into alot of things that I wasnt expecting during the installation that I didnt see in any of the videos online that made it look easy.
@@CaliRaisedLED None at all! Thanks for the replies and awesome instructional. I bought the sliders Oct 2021 and had them delivered to Texas. I just had the time to drive down from California and will be installing the sliders Friday March 11. I'll let you know how the install goes.
@@CaliRaisedLED Do you know if this Rock Sliders (because I want to buy this one ), Can fit with Full Skid Plate from and other brands.... I m asking because most Full Skid Plate have Crossmember at the Transfer Case... and I want to know if this part (Crossmember) doesn't interfere with the rock sliders
Hello, The brackets you are referring to are already anodized. You do not need to coat them or don't need to worry about the salt eating at them! Let us know if you have any other questions.
So I installed mine yesterday and everything was going smoothly until I installed the passengers side. The slider was slightly bent on the front portion that attaches to the front cross member that I couldn’t keep the slider flush to the frame. I had to do a lot of banging and use 2 jacks to press the slider against the frame so can I get the bolts to latch onto the frame. Not only that but the front most bolt hole would not align with the hole on the front cross member that it’s impossible to get the bolt to thread into the first hole on the “handle”.
@crone 1 I was told you can pick up any of their products in person at the shop in Ft worth Texas to avoid shipping costs. Only reason i imagine the shipping would be that much is because they would have to be shipped on a large 6ft pallet and go freight. The mail man could never handle something like sliders. But honestly with how indestructible their rock sliders are i would rather pay for shipping and have a quality product with zero worries protecting my frame, instead of getting free or reduced shipping on some mediocre weak sliders ya know?
These sliders suck. bracket that lays against the frame doesn't line up correctly on mine and theres about an 1/8th inch gap between the frame and bracket. Doesn't even mount flush against the frame. Also was missing 4 nuts to complete the install.
God I hope I don’t have the same issue. Finally finished painting mine and installing tomorrow. My biggest complaint so far is all the weld splash; I gave up sanding it off there was so much. I was very surprised with the mess for the price.
Rex_8787 so, I’ve got mine installed now. Was a bit of a bear, but the video helps. Drivers side rear brake lines are an issue, I’m in shocked this video didn’t point it out (almost stopped and returned product), the bolt will protrude in between the lines, which I was not okay with (you can see in this video when installing the pinch clap how the nut sticks between them 12:54). I turned the bolt around (PITA) and have the lines resting on the side angle of bolt. The welding splash issues aren’t seen once installed. Over all, the look good and are built tough. I didn’t have any flush issues. Give yourself EXTRA time; I ran out of day light and had to do all tightening the next day.
@@jonerikgreene1175 did your solution mounting the bolt backwards near the brake line workout long term? Or did you reach out to Caliraised for a solution. Debating if I should just have my shop install mine.
@@DirtRoad_Chronicles That confused me, too. Just leave that Toyota OEM bolt alone, as we use the 3/8" bolt holes a few inches away from that one (there are two bolt holes in the slider, and two in the frame).
Hi Daniel, Cost of raw material, local professional welders and shipping all play a roll in the price of our sliders. We want to bring you the best quality slider for your adventure. Thank you for your feedback.
Awesome video! I followed along step by step and had no issues at all. The only thing I would add would be torquing the 3/4 inch hardware to specs. I got over 2 more turns per bolt by torquing them down to draw the slider to the frame evenly.
Watched this and the way he referenced to orientation is confusing, when he mention the front it does not mean the very front but the front of the back portion of the slider🤦♂️, there are actually two bolts that needed to installed backward on driver side on 2019, in case u are like me follow instructions to the teeth please don’t listen to this guy he’s talked in a manner like he has a bad day and Caliraised made him do this video, lighting is garbage in the video at least shine some light and orient the camera viewing in a way we know which direction is which, I made it thru following a long o this video and managed to completed my rockslider install, but got dang its a pain to watch this un organize video.
Really wish I would’ve seen the spot-on comments on this video before I dumped $1,000 on these sliders. Zero instructions in the box so I am now watching this cringe-worthy instructional video. Instead of trying to figure out what direction is front or back or left or right, or trying to squint my eyes so I can magically give myself night vision so I can see what the hell he’s doing, I’m simply going to take this ziplock bag I got full of random nuts and bolts with this ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR painted piece of steel and figure it out myself.
