I bought this thinking it would be a simple fix and its ended up being one of the biggest headaches. In the beginning, my snap-on solus says it lost communication with the tcm. After months of working on it and simply not wanting to waste any more time, I decided to take it to the dealer. BIG MISTAKE! After 4 trips towing it back and fourth, constant labor charges for "diagnosing," and months of waiting for them to have time to get to it, the dealer finally just said they didn't want to work on it anymore. They claim it has a network issue but can't tell me what it is. Before this they had me put in a new PCM, TCM, fuel pump driver, gauge cluster, air bag driver, and tried to get me to change the fans. Still doing the exact same thing it did the first day I got it. It'll run about 40-45mph but takes it time getting up to that. Dash lights are on. I'm simply tired of working on it. The body is in great shape as well as the interior, no rips and is clean. I don't feel like parting it out because the engine runs great, and its a real clean vehicle. It only has 130k miles(despite what the odo says). I put in a salvage dash and had the dealer "program it" to get it to work, since they claimed the original dash was messed up also. It's funny how they are able to program the pcm and modules but can't tell me what the issue is. If anyone has suggestions or wants to buy it, leave a comment.
update: The dealer says its a wiring issue after they had me replace pretty much everything. After over a year of messing with it, I gave up. I actually bought another "wrecked" Freestyle from Copart and removed parts from this one to make a car. The trans was not bad like a lot of people were telling me because I put that trans into the wrecked car and is driving flawless. Its been in and driving everyday for a year now with no issues. So I'm pretty sure the wiring was messed up in the old car. It probably rubbed somewhere or had a break that make the whole system go nuts.
