The Archive Series is one of my absolute favorite variants of the Hunter Original, and this Antique Pewter finish is beyond gorgeous. Also, it is quite the rarity. I was lucky enough to grab this for $10, and I sent somebody I know to get it in Jacksonville, Florida since I was and still am in Virginia.
The previous owner of the fan was nice enough to remove the blades and keep the oil relatively clean. It would have killed me to see such a nice fan have its brackets bent, because I see that far too often. It does have a bit of a wobble, but nothing terrible.
I do have the canopy for this fan, but it was too tall to install with the way I have my mounting bracket installed for the polished brass and white Original that stays in my bedroom. I meant to get a shot of it for the video, but I forgot. It looks like any other Archive Original canopy, just in Antique Pewter.
You guys know the story behind the Archive Series Originals. It was an old patent that they revived and modernized for their Heritage Collection.
This is the only Original I have owned that has been made in Taiwan instead of the United States or China. It has a 210x20 motor that draws a single amp and 15-degree blade pitch. It has Switchblades, and I showed it with both its Dark Cherry and Dark Walnut colors and in its 4-blade and 5-blade setups.
Some people complain about these imported Originals, but I think they are excellent. Sure, I do think the 1990s and early-2000s Originals were their peak in terms of quality, performance, finish variety, and special editions, but I have never been unimpressed by the quality of the imported models. For example, this Archive Original is built well, performs to an high level, and has a stunning finish.
