Never been a fan of the Forrester. Ive been in the air about geting a truck or a car. This really is the best of both worlds. Underrated car

I picked up a 2004 FXT, 5spd manual a year ago. No sunroof, but I upgraded it to full STI power and lowered it 2 inches all around. Really stands out, feels alive and i can still go over speed bumps with 0 issues. love this car!

That's my main goal with this Forester, I want to make it the STI version that Never made it to America. Im not sure about lowering it yet though, I might need that hight for a little off road action

@@YursHero I'm glad my 04 FXT didnt come with a sunroof, it lowers the ceiling by an inch or two. I'm a tall person and need the extra headroom.

I found a Unicorn. 2004 XT with only 60k miles with a manual transmission stock... but I cant decide between this or an 05 STI lol

That is beautiful. The XT is going to be in a lot better shape and last longer than an STI. Plus they are basically the same thing under the hood.

This was published in 2017'ish. I had my SG 2.0X 5 speed manual + Low gear for 4 years at that point. Still got it. It's my "big guy" and I intend to keep him as long as possible. The SGs were the best line of Foresters to date. So I'm gleefully watching a tour of a car that I practically know inside out by now ... but hey, confirmation bias ;D

I found a black 2005 xt with 94k miles auto. Car looks like it’s in good shape and it’s from a Subaru dealer here in Colorado. Asking price is 9500 is that a rip off? I really want one of these, I just am being patient for a good deal. Anyone have any idea?

You have to remember the "subaru tax" haha so all subarus are more expensive than say KBB states. I would say if it is in good mechanical condition and only 94k miles that is a good price. Mine was around 140k when I bought it and it was the cheapest in the area I was looking for a long time at 7500, and they wanted to jump up the price because other people were selling them for more.

How did you like the Auto, do you wish you had gone with the 5spd at all. There is an identical car here but I'm holding off until I'm sure the auto is a good car. Family car, want great winter driving I don't car about top speed. Just good winter driving. Great video!! If you can give an update video or even just a quick reply to this you would really be helping me out on your thoughts since you've owned the auto/car in general. Thanks!!!

If you are looking for a family car the Auto is awesome, my wife doesn't know how to drive stick so she can drive it whenever she wants. I have heard that offroading and snow driving is easier in the 5 speed but it doesn't sound like you are going to be a rock crawler or using it for the track

I have a 2006 "facelift" version, RHD (because I'm in UK) had been modified slightly: STI intercooler/Y-pipe, cold air filter, de-catted exhaust, though UK law required that I re-catted it, so it's now a "back cat" with a Prodrive backbox/tail pipe, adjustable Pedders suspension so it sits a wee bit lower and is firmer. My one has a little corrosion underneath which I intend to sort out and the passenger side window is stuck down because the lift motor failed. Great fun to drive and, other than the poor gas milage, very practical. It's a slightly rare model over here: only 75 on the road right now in UK. Thumbs up for informative walkaround.

I had a 2005 manual. Turbo kicks in at 2500 revs. Car responded instantly. I now have 2007 auto and turbo is constant but there is a slight hesitation when you hit the accelerator when at cruise speed. Serious car but I prefer mine with panoramic sunroof and leather heated front seats. I will keep driving these for as long as they can be obtained. Had an outback but prefer the Forester.

@@musasizigodfreydixion6231 I dont do litres or kilometres. On a long run I get over 30 miles to the gallon. My car is automatic which doesn’t help the economy but who cares. If I wanted economy I would drive something else. Love the Subaru XTs but haven’t tried the more modern versions which are more suv while up to 2008 they are still basically a car.

Litterally all front brakes are disks dude, I know you love your car but 99% of cars have 99% of these features. That kind of sounded harsh but then I brag like that when I buy a car, great video
