All this time looking for a video that actually shows it and I finally found one to bad I already put my clutch in lol

Great video, it was extremely hard to get the transmission down because of three little details. For it to come out smooth, remove transmission mount as described, completely remove the axles, fluid out of tranny and the axle bases screwed into the transmission output shafts on both sides should come out. Then is as easy as it can be. Thank you for this video, great stuff!

The outer pressure plate bolts (along with two or three upper case/block bolts) use a tool called a "Tripple Square" sockets. Three squares stacked in equally offset rotations makes the 12 points, a-la...tipple square. I believe 9mm for pressure plate bolts, and 14mm for the case to block bolts. Side note: A 14mm triple square socket is also used to hold the wheel bearing housing to it's steering knuckle. I recommend impact rated, 1/2 inch socket type from a good manufacturer (Snap-on or Craftsman) with lifetime replacement warranties, because the points do strip out on sizes 14mm and below. Tripple Square, Torx, Secure Torx, and metric are essential tools for 90% of all VW/Audi repairs.

1 thing I noticed is you are using T tips when I learned that audio, vw etc actually use triple square bits. They LOOK about the same but are actually very different and the triple square bits are less likely compared to T bits to strip they also ensure you get a good fit. As you did it CAN be done with T bits but normally not recommended as the pattern is different and you do risk stripping out the bolt. I learned this when doing the cv axles on my brother's 05 passat

My only concern is the motor mounts and dog bone you reused and I’ve heard there stretch bolts one time use only. Other than that about to replace my clutch on an mk5 rabbit pretty much identical to the mk5 Jetta

Appreciate your effort in making the video. I like the fact that you give the torque specs. I would suggest that in the future you lower the audio level of the music when recording---I found I had to ride the volume between your narration and the music--up/down/up/down..... I have found a Luk kit including dual mass flywheel for $249 (www.idparts.com/luk-clutch-kit-038105264e-050-p-740.html#product_tabs) that was recommended by a member of the TDI Club. Thanks again! PS, I noticed in your answers to 3 different comments asking how long the job took you: 5:30, 4 hrs, 2.5 hrs. Lol. I figure it will use up the better part of a day for me.

Hello there, I have a tranny leak/pedal to the floor also on a 2007 vw eos 2.0t! (bpy) going to find out what tranny case I have later(02m-02s) Looking for recommendations on what clutch kit to go with and it's making my Anxiety go thru the roof im extremely nervous! My Dual Mass flywheel has 130k on it so I'm assuming its shot. My Wrencher says he will try to resurface it but VW says it's a non-servicable part! So on the 07' eos 2.0t the slave is incased in the bellhousing, hope that helps. It took about 3 days of watching RU-vid vids to understand this whole 6 speed m/t clutch/seal replacement. I wish I had the tools and equipment to install my new clutch and seals but I'm an amateur who fell in love with driving & working on V-dub's only about 2yrs ago.

Should you use a T-40 on the CV bolts, tapping in a 6mm hex should get them out once you strip them!

Where did you get the clutch kit from?

Just replaced my clutch with a new clutch kit and now I see white smoke from the back of the engine any ideas?

question. i'm having issues after installing a new flywheel, new clutch kit, and replacing the transmission because it had a crack in but it. The car barely moves, bled the slave cylinder, no air in the line, goes into gear perfect. What could i be missing.

This the same process on a 2003 vw jetta 2.0 avh?

i bought a clutch pressure plate and flywheel all in one kit, can I reuse the bolts that bolt it all to the engine?

Somone changed my pressure plate bolts from triple square bolts to 12 point bolts and of course I don’t have the right size socket

How tf did you keep the flywheel from spinning when torquing bolts

You stripped that bolt because you was using the wrong tool!!! You said/used a T40 but it's not a torq it takes a M8 (triple square) if you use the right tool You won't strip it

would have been easier to just pull the engine trans together
