I have one too also a 2005, if you want to know what the sport means on this bike go over 8000 rpm and you can go to 14000 rpm, between that you will find out what the sport part of the bike is. It feels like starting a second engine, you think you can fly. I love the bike. You said OMG that was over the 8000 rpm you love that.
I have an 07 and love it, very underrated bike and insurance is cheap. I have a custom exhaust where the tail pipes kinda point outward of each other instead of evenly parallel. Definitely recommend putting an exhaust on these as they sound great. Pretty quick and comfortable to ride, I ride it almost every day. Also recommend putting LED headlights and LED license plate light, I also did underglow lights just to help be seen at night. I want to keep mine forever even after I get several bikes I know I'm still going to love this one. Horsepower wise this bike makes a little more hp than newer naked bikes that are kind of in it's class so to me there's not much point to getting a newer bike. It's a bit less than supersports in its engine size but you could hang with them ok you might not be faster but I don't care much for racing. Also the big brother to this bike the FZ1 was very underrated bike as well and the same goes for that bike just more power obviously.
Great review. I have a 2007 I bought new and after 48k miles I'm still happy with it. Toured all up and down the west coast, daily commuting year round (when I wasn't using other bikes) and spirited pleasure riding when I get the chance. Looking to get 100k+ miles out of it. I've looked at newer bikes, but just can't justify trading it in for something new and haven't found anything that I think I would be any happier with in the long run. If I get other bikes, this one will still be in the stable as it has in the past.
Good video man.....Im looking at an 05 fz6 to go with my dual sport. I rode one years ago and loved it. You call it a sport touring bike.....but this bike fits in the "Standard" category ;) Just like the old classic UJM's
Man. Just saw your video while doing reserch on this bike. I have a low cc motorcycle from 2014. I am thinking on buy that FZ6 from 2005? The bike looks in good condition. I am afraid because of the year it is. Is it really worth the change?
It all revolves around your budget. These bikes re $2000 all day long, and its a quick 600. If you're budget is around 2-3k, then this is a good option for you. If you want a 600, but can pull up like 5-7 thousand, then get a newer one. Just do a quick inspection first on any bike you get of course to know what your getting yourself into
Great vid! I am currently looking to pick up a second bike that is a relatively inexpensive sport tourer-ish..this one seems to fit the bill! Do you mind if I asked how much you paid? I’m seeing on CL a lot listed between 2500-3000..is that a good price? Byw I’m currently riding a vstar 1300 tourer so yeah I miss the sporty side 😂
@@calebjanda8443 Grabbed mine for 3k also, The economy is a little different than 3 years ago =P Youd probably be hard pressed to find a decent one for 2k nowdays. Picking it up tomorow cant wait!!
Joey Perkins you should be fine. This video was made with just a few days of riding it. I've grown very accustomed to it and actually think the height is perfect for me and I'm 5'8 ish
I'm a 5'4 female and this bike 2007 instead of 05 is my first bike. I can't flatfoot, i'm on the balls of my feets but not tip toes, if you're 5'8 will will feel pretty comfortable. maybe not completely flatfoot depending on your inseam but i think you'll love it
I_am_T0ny yeah I meant how there is two different rpm displays. The normal tachometer and then there is also a readout of the exact number of revs. I messed up my wording 💁🏻♂️
