Imagine that... a Ford Fusion with a broken interior door handle. Happens to all of them at some point. I have 2012 Fusion SE 3.0L and I think I’ve changed every door handle inside the car. Not a bad design, just cheap plastic components. Really surprised they haven’t issued a recall on all of those because it really is a safety issue. If you get in an accident and can’t get out quickly because the door handle is broken, could cost someone their lives if the car is on fire. Surprisingly, they used that design for a long time... considering how crappy and dangerous it is. Amazed that they haven’t had more complaints about this issue. But... all that being said, my rant is over and I love my Fusion, it's a great, fun and reliable sedan.
I'm considering buying a used one. It has 98k miles on it. I've already given it a test drive. It appears to run great, however, I'm not a mechanic. Please advise?
2011 Fusion SE with the Duratec Inline 4 cylinder engine. A superb, mostly reliable vehicle. The 4 cyl is a surprising little powerhouse. Just a straight up, naturally aspirated engine, designed in partnership with Mazda. It's pretty much flawless. Additionally, the Bordeaux Reserve Metallic paintjob looks very sharp and has held up beautifully.
Love love my 08 3.0AWD. Drives like something way out of its league. Handles like a dream.. MPG not the best but I didn't buy it for great gas mileage.. I get around 300miles per tank mainly city so it is what it is..
That man got the interior of that gorgeous car wet and your radio is about to stop playing cds and run out the battery. But overall amazing cars. 07 fusion was my first car
Mine is a 2007 SEL V6 front wheel drive and it really got a 62L gastank. Wish mine had heated seats and a sunroof.. Not being AWD is fine for me. I life in Europe and weather is just fine
Yep thats the best Model of Gen 1 Fusions. I got a 2010 Sport in silver with every option for the time! Mines an early build 2010 being built on June 2009.
I have a 09 fully loaded red metallic and yes it is very reliable that fusion made me buy 2016 1 cause my 09 is still driving like new with 120000 miles on it and it's a v6
@EGC YT I actually prefer Japan motors. I'm American so it hurts me to say that, but the Japanese engineers are amazing. They take any defect extremely personally. Some engineers have committed suicide over defects
I have a 2007 and 2011 Fusion. I had the 2011 for 10 years and the 2007 for 15 years. Both have been wonderful! I like the instrument cluster and radio system of the 2011 better, otherwise I love both equally. .
I have the 2010 Sel Ford Fusion and mine looks like the 2011 I roll my window down too just in case it locks! lol It looks pretty much the same. I just don't like the dark interior. Mine is tan with the colored interior light feature...very cool!
I had a 2011 Mercury Milan and even drove a 2006 Mercury Milan for a couple of weeks while my car was getting fixed from hitting a deer. They are both a little bit different inside and out. I noticed that the steering wheel column was loser in my 2011 to 2006. Even the dash is different. My had a keypad and the older one didn’t. I like the color of the older one better because it is a darker royal blue. My was silver grey. I do missed in driving the Milan. It was a good car in driving.
Buying my 2012 Ford Fusion SEL off my dad. Been a great car for him, no issues what so ever. Its definitely on of my favorite looking sedans ford has ever made. Kinda been thinking of possibly selling this one down the road and getting the AWD Sport model as a project. They are pretty cheap used, like $6,000 to $8,000 depending on mileage and condition. My only real issue is a lack of aftermarket support for them. The second gen 2013+ seems to have much better aftermarket support, but it looks kind odd to me. I just needed something more fuel efficient than my F250 for buzzing around doing errands, and something fun for the mountain roads out in Oregon. I'll get a good test drive here soon as I have to drive it all the way back to Oregon from Iowa, almost 2,000 miles.
I have a 2010 se with the 3.0L and it leaks oil like crazy. 85k miles. The projector lights look cool but actually suck, I've replaced the ABS controller, throttle body, fuel vapor purge valve and a ruptured AC line. The paint is subpar and the interior paneling is prone to discoloration and staining. My first Ford product and I am not impressed. For a V6 it does have impressive fuel mileage, it always starts and it is comfortable. Not the easiest to work on though.
Very nice cars overall, but the facelift appearance is far superior. I despise that "chrome under glass" style of the original's heads and tails. cheap and plasticky looking.
The concept of this video sounded so useful -- but, the execution left way too much to be desired. Too much focus on superficial differences, most of which could be seen with only a quick lookover. Far too little attention to more substantive differences and what practical differences those differences make.
I personally prefer the 2006-2009 mainly because I like the exterior styling a bit better. And I hate that the 2010-2012 have electronic power steering. My 2012 Fusion SEL 2.5L has electric steering and it never has felt quite right
I recently had a 2012 S.E 2.5L. good car but my electric power steering failed and it cost over $1500 to fix so it has to go. I'm thinking of buying another fusion but definitely 2006-2009 model vs 2010-2012
It had 265k. Well maintained, no leaks. All fluids up to date. I bought power steering fluid when the issue occured and couldn't find the resivor so I went on RU-vid and thats when I found out it was electric@@brickcastle
The 2010-12 fusion hybrid is the 2.5l 4 cyl with less horsepower output than the non-hybrid 2.5l. Hybrid I believe is 155hp with an electric motor giving really good mpg while the non-hybrid 2.5 has 175hp (which I have) and I'm getting 29.1 avg mpg right now. 3.0l v6 is 240hp and the sport is 3.5l v6 with 263hp. I wish I had the sport to be honest, I think it looks the nicest IMO.
I have the 2010 hybrid just got it in April and it is a great car but recently my power steering went out and idk anything about all electronic power steering.
Owning a 2011 Fusion SE as my first car with electric power steering, it doesn't bother me. Idk what the difference is, driving my parents' cars with hydraulic steering, they drive the same for me.
i owned a 07 fusion nice car but the headlights tend to yellow quickly as they're more exposed directly to the sun and the clear lense of the tailights thats glued around the edges will start to come unglued after a while.
@@theshield1613 I disagree I don’t think that any of the models are known for breaking down! The Fusion is a very reliable car from day one. I still see 2006 models all over!
