Came at the perfect time, bought a volkswagen jetta 2006 TDI last week and want to practise learning how to change basic things like changing oil and coolant x thanks!
Is it normal for there to be a second seal at top? Not the one inside the oil filter housing but where the housing screws on to. I noticed my car had a second red seal at the top. Was wondering it should be there or if previous person didn't remove it. I could not tell if yours had one in the video.
Indeed it is…I should of mentioned that in the video. The customer mentioned the drain plug being “damaged” prior to me doing the job, so we included it in parts order for the job. The OE VW plug is only $3 from RockAuto tho, so not like it really broke the bank or anything.
Man I bought the same oil filter socket and it bent the drive to the point where my wrench slips off. Did you use a 1/2 drive wrench with adapters or were those all 3/8 extensions?
