2006 - 2012 Ford Fusion SEL V6 Review (2008 1st gen 3.0) | Mods at the end | 

I loved it!!! It just rusted out on me sadly most likely due to last owners not taking good care of it..

These 2006 models are the most reliable I heard ?

Madd Maxx for sure that's what I like! you can find a lot of these that are pretty cheap to according to the fusion Facebook group. how much hp does the maxima have???? the v6 facelifted fusion (commonly known as the 1.5 Gen with fusion enthusiasts) has 240 hp with the 3.0 I believe and the sport has a 3.5 with 260+ hp!

Quinn's Cars my max has 265horses. It's powerful car and bose sound system is awesome. But these are my favorite cars. I don't like ford cars but the this gen fusion is my fav the v6 is a lil underpowered but an intake and tune will boost it lol

I'll give ya quick run down of what I think! Ok #1 I have no clue how reliable the awd is cause I have a fwd. I'm sure it's fine though! Mine is a SEL v6 with the appearance package(has black and red leather and 18inch alloys on top of the SEL trim) and navigation. And I got it for 4000$ from an old dude who took care of it. Roof did leak a bit and has rust spots on roof rest looks good. It's been very reliable! And I still see a lot of 3.0s on the road which shows me they're pretty good! One thing tho is oil. From what people say these motors burn oil. Not lots at all. But enough that you should keep your eye on it every now and then. (Which you should do anyways ahahha). The problem with this is they're sensitive to low oil. (My old honda would burn oil worse but you'd just go oh shit top it up and your good) but I let the oil get low on my 3.0. It knocked seized and 2100$ later it's on the road again with another 3.0 running fine. Make sure the suspension is good and if anything is knocking or rattling figure it out! Not a big deal but a rear lower controll arm had to be changed in mine and it was close to 400$. Might be able to take off more $$$ if that's the case!!! As for speed it's got enough passing power but I drove a 2018 f150 and it makes it feel a tad slow. But again enough and I used to drive a 130hp car and this felt much faster! Fuel could be better. I drive all highway and get 28mpg. City and it's way worse sadly. Fuel economy was 20mpg when I bought it and it was almost all city. But yeah I'm happy with 28mpg highway for sure it's just city driving itll drop. But yeah if it's in great shape I'd say 5000$ is fair! Not a huge steal (imo) but good! I'm also from nova scotia so prices might be different here. Just take it to a good mechanic for a final checkup I'd say! Let me know if ya get it!!!!!

These are pretty solid I've heard they're pretty solid I don't think they burn too much oil though. They've outranked the Camry and Accord in reliability I know that

Quinn's Cars Thanks for the quick reply bud, not too worried about having to take it to the shop or mechanic because i have a shop and an account with ford. I’m a diesel tech but I know my way around a gasser. I’m over in the states and KBB says it’s a fair price for 5k. I always work on all my personal cars so I just wanted to be prepared for the worst so thanks for the advice! Seems like these things are pretty reliable.

I live in Lameque Island N.B., like you know, Atlantic water is very salty. This summer i have replaced both rocker panels on my 06 Fusion, and that was the only major repair. I have wire brush and paint sub frame and floor panels from under. I bought my Fusion in 2017 with 198000km. It's now 239500km and the 2.5 engine dont show any sign of fatigue. I use Parts-Master 5w20 along with a Lucas treatment and Wix filter. The tranny started to shift really hard , specialy in 2nd gear , à Lucas transmission treatment took care of that almost immediatly. I love this car in all aspect, comfort, performance, handling, fuel milage is quite good, and so on. Also, to my surprise, i get some recalls from Ford ( i am the 3rd owner, i wonder how they find me, LOL) so they replaced air bags, the rear right ABS sensor and they flushed and replace brake fluid. Long story short, i will keep this car forever. Nice review, and salutations from Lameque Island N.B. ( i raced at AMP Shubenacadie N.S. in the late 90's to 2000 😊)

I got cheap Ebay brand but it did leave a code. You just have to clear it. I have a mstrix and a mustang now. For the stang imma probably get some ones that come with a piece that make it so you dont get the error code.

OK cool yeah I’m about to put mine in I got some cheap but well rated Amazon ones, I can clear a code but generally with those things it leaves a bulb out light on the dash, is it just a like OBD2 code? Thanks

It looks best painted a smoke chrome color like the 2011-2012 Fusion Sports were from the factory.

Cody 2913 they came with my 2008. Mine has the appearance package and it's an sell v6. Also came with the nav and red and black leather. Sorry that doesn't help. I bought it off a old couple. Look around in some u picks or junkyard Maybe???

Quinn's Cars actually yes it did thank you, and I will I have the SE with the v6 so far all the mods i did to it is changed all the guage,ac control,door locks,window switches,shift knob,and headlight switch lights to ice blue,put a pioneer touchscreen radio in it,tinted the windows, painted the brake caliper's red(for that extra horsepower :b)and put brushed aluminum wrap on the center console,door handle trim,and the radio trim,and LED headlights,interior lights,trunk light and tag lights.the only thing I need now to complete it is the rims and the 3rd lower grill bar

Cody 2913 why did you change the switches? :0 And nice! I really we ma change all my interior lights from green to blue or red or just something different but I feel like that'll be a t tough mod.... Before I tell you my mods check your oil once a week the 3.0s are sensitive to low oil. I had to put In a new 3.0 on mine... anyways I'll subscribe in case you ever make car vids on your fusion. Quinn's Cars sorry I should explain it better I changed the lights in the window and door locks switches to ice blue ,and yes I do check the oil regularly,my wife have a Mazda tribute that had the 3.0 and it used oil too.yes I will do a video but I want to finish it before I do one and I also put chrome tips on the back too i done so much to it I forget to list it all But actually no it's not had at all to change the lights,I thought it would be too all you do is pull the old ones off with a pair of pilers and solder the LED lights (any color) most of the circuit boards show which side is negative the only ones that didn't we're the steering wheel controls,a/c climate control,and the thing that turns your head lights on but you that a digital multimeter to find which is what and the LED lights are marked which side is positive,I wasn't thinking at the time I should made a video on how I did it But anyways great video I like what you done to it I will be subscribing

ONLY the V6 has the 6 Speed Auto from what I've researched bout the Fusion

@Dark Coven I think the car handles good for what it is! Better then my 2001 civic easily. My moms 2013 mazda 3 is slightly better though. BUTT it's a newer and smaller car. For a big sedan I find the fusion stays nice and flat. And a newer one probably would do better considering mines 10 years old. I haven't drive anything sporty to compare it too sadly..

Came with em! I think the wheels and seats were some sort of appearance package.

Hey, I have an 08 fusion that’s a five speed. Guess the transmissions are very reliable, my car is 225,000 miles on it and I’ve had absolutely zero issues. However the clutch has been replaced two times of this lifetime, which isn’t too uncommon with manuals

Ah yah got the little dual tip pea shooters then hahaha I'm sure the 2.3 is great just the fusion is a bigger car Compared to the focus so I don't think it would feel as fast as a smaller car. But peppy enough I'm sure epically with the manual! The 3.0L is great and I do love how the stock dual chrome tips look!! Quite peppy! They need a manual though like the Mazda 6 with the 3.0 Got 8Ls/100kms which isn't tooooo bad. They're sensitive to low oil so be careful. Mine rusted out me. Got a matrix for a daily now!

And yeah 5.0 would be great. The 2010 2012 3 5 sports are pretty cool!
