This is the joint/bypass connection under the hood that connects the cluster to the pcm/bcm. Its found around the rear left of the engine bay close up to the firewall on the passenger side. The contacts in this connector are weak and they are not connecting 100% all the time anymore. . I disconnected mine, and straight wired them wire for wire and no more issue!!! Its not a sensor or a module, no pcm, or cat, just that silly bypass connector. Thats it!!! Im a self made expert on dodge wiring after this whole very same episode here. 😁 Hahaha trust me 💯
One more thing to check incase this is NOT the issue would be to check your T fluid. If there is not enough or too much even, there is a safety sensor the same one that throws your car into LIMP HOME MODE, that signals a shut off to protect your transmission in the event of under or overfilling or a seal leak etc. you will find that one or both of these troubleshooting tips a success.
Used to happen to me if I drove harder and got over 2500 rpm’s. After a couple of intermittent episodes with this problem and after changing out the throttle body, cleaning all the sensors, and all the contacts I finally changed out the map sensor and have not had an occurrence for the last six months. Good luck everybody!
I had the same problem I disconnected the battery for 5 min disconnected the pcm and cleaned it and plugged it back in and car ran strong after no more turning off!!🤘🏼
I had same issue I have 2006 rt disconnected battery and then just took off the pcm cleaned around port with dry rag and blew air in the port connection and connected everything back up that’s what fixed my car from shutting off and no issue since
You can put the key in and turn to acc then turn it on the on position don’t start it just back and forth three times see if a code comes up on the dash
Holy 💩 I totally forgot I had this same issue. About 7 years ago someone else crash onto me hitting the fuel filler side and after they repaired it it kept shutting off. After research they told me it was under warranty and they replaced the tank and haven't had a single issue since.

Mine does the same but already changed the map sensor, both cat sensors, and basically every sensor even the leak detection pump and I still get the check engine light says a small evap leak cars runs good and when I do a stop the pressure for the car goes down and the car gets cold instead of over heating Any ideas what else it could be
So how do we fix this? I took out my PCM and cleaned the terminals with sand paper and it never stalled. It’s been sitting for a day I’m about to go try to start it and see what happens. I think it resets and it runs fine for a while and then it start again. PCM is my only guess.
Need help , so I’ve made a lot of repairs and still can’t figure out why I’m losing power , especially when I put the charger in reverse. Feels like it’s putting , but not , like a stuffer step and also when I run the fan ac/heat. Anyone else had an issue like this ?
No shot.. my charger does this to me when I’m stopped at a traffic light. Does it every once in a while when I least expect it. There’s too many reasons in the comment section, I don’t even know what the problem is for mine
I have the same problem i changed the spark plugs, then computer said missfire in juel injector 1. I changed it then said 4-5. So i changed 4 & 5 fuel injectors and the coils. And eventually the problem remained not resolved.
mines jus did this nd i had the whine noise so i turned it off but the battery light had came on on my dash b4 so now it don't start at all 🤦🏻♂️ hope changing the alternator nd maybe getting a new battery does the job 🤷🏻♂️ i have a 2010 charger Srt
Its your pcm, mines had this exact same problem. I tried sparkplugs 02 sensor but the real reason was the cars PCM. You have to go online and get a preprogrammed one specific to your vin number and it cost me but over $500. But once it’s ordered it’s easy install should take less than 30 minutes. Turn it on let it idle a bit and boooom it’s fixed. Mine hasn’t had a problem since
If it was the pcm it wouldn’t turn over and you’d be blowing the pcm fuse … just went through that myself 06 Dodge Charger 5.7….. I’ve replaced MDS solenoids ,oxygen sensors , egr valve fuel injectors , fuel pump fuel sending unit 😂 Im going to try the MAP sensor I hear that can affect low idle issues
@@broadwayz0913 pretty sure its the fuel tank sensor, chrysler released a message saying that the warranty on all 06 models fuel tanks is extended from 3 years to lifetime meaning you should be able to get it fixed at any dealership fo free
@@TheBrailerTarkPoys mines have been doing the same thing I changed the spark plugs and pcm but it still does it I was thinking it was my throttle body but I'm gonna try the fuel sensors aswell today
