2006 Ford F350 Check Engine Light, MIL, Glow Plug Testing P0671

There was a check engine light on in my 2006 Ford F350 6.0 diesel truck. P0671, cylinder 1 glow plug circuit. In the end it was a zero dollar fix. We tested the glow plug and wiring harness. All things pointed to the glow plug module but it seems the fix was just reconnecting the connector as the light cleared itself. I am assuming it was just a poor connection that has been resolved.

I have a 2006 f250 and this just happened to me. I just unplugged it and plugged it back up. The code wen away. Thanks alot. Simple fix.

She is a bit bigger than the usual ride on mower for sure! Sometimes you get lucky. The CEL has not come back yet.

Interesting that the whole module is the cause. Do you think it was a false code or did it just magically repair itself. My traction control unit will throw a code once in a blue moon but then it goes away like 1 minute later

I think the code was trigger by a poor connection. Unplugging and plugging back in may have made the difference. I will monitor it and if the code comes back it is time to dig deeper. Thanks for the comment.

When in doubt clear the code and hope it doesn't come back

I didn't clear the code. It cleared itself because the condition no longer existed. Once a condition no longer exists after a few drive cycles the code will be cleared by the system itself. Thanks for the comment.
