I have this car, the 06 sedan with the 6-speed. 250k miles (bought it at 20k) it's a beige with parchment interior. The engine still purrs and the car is fast and strong. 3 and 4 gear power are a dream and it's responsiveness still spoils me when I drive newer cars. Starting to use a little oil, and it's going to be like losing your dog when it finally goes. I've had a power steering issue and had to replace the starter, but that's about it outside scheduled maintenance. Unbelievably I have never had to replace the clutch.
I know!! This car has been hit twice and it was technically totaled, but the insurance allowed a buyback so I bought it back and repaired it myself. That’s how much I love this car. Took 2 weeks on a frame puller to straighten the frame
Same I loved mine so much it’s like the car connects with you it got ruined by another mindless driver completely total it I can’t wait to get another coupe v6
I have owned my 2006 sedan V6 6MT for two years. I love it. Factory wheels are much nicer. Slave cylinder restrictor delete, K&N and regular maintenance and these cars hold up. Also the TL sway bars are a must.
Very nice car! I have an 06 Accord V6 with an automatic with only 18,000 miles on it. Bought it from an old couple who could not drive anymore. Great review!
i love these accords. i have only seen a 6 speed V6 once in my life and it wasnt even near where i live. the design and interiors are beautiful and the engines are just sweet. i wouldnt mind owning an auto v6 either because those still haul.
One of the weak points on this car is the front brakes, same version in coupe has larger brake discs and you can swap them. Thats what I did and couldnt be happier. Still love driving it everytime.
Do THIS. Or, if you want to go all out, get RL calipers, 12.8 inch 350Z rotors, and the Fastbrakes caliper brackets. Just keep in mind that the stock 17s need wheel spacers to accommodate these calipers.
Not with the V6, the current 2013 Accord offers a 6-speed on the Sport Sedan but it's only a 4-cyl. The Coupe offers the 6-speed V6 but there is just something incredibly special about a sedan like this that offers this kind of performance.
Yeah these (06-07)accords are fantastic. Love my 06 v6 (4door) accord. Drives is smooth n can put up speed really quick. Best model I've drove yet. Used 2 own a 91 (cb7) model and it was a fast as well.
03-05 has the issue. they solved the issue with the mmc (06-08). i had a 2003 V6 coupe and it crapped out on me, but i did swap a newer transmission and it drove smooth as butter. its a very nice car
Ok, so this one is an issue that I have had a run in with. The temps that you are talking about are probably around the 30s and below sometimes as high as the 40s. You startup the car and take the car out and it is not fun to shift till the car more than warms up. Short runs are an issue. The answer is not your gear box or the fluid in the gear box. The answer lies in the hydraulic slave cylinder that actuates the clutch. when the temp is low the fluid is thick and moves slowly. This causes the clutch to not fully disengage before you are ready to shift. What compounds the issue more is that Honda put a filter in the slave cylinder to trap particulates. This filter gets plugged over time and causes the size of the channel to get smaller which takes more time to push the same volume of fluid to the end point. I would bet money that you also have the moving friction point issue with your clutch. Completely flush that hydraulic clutch actuator as well as clean out the screen in the slave cylinder or replace the slave. There is also a mod out there to kill the clutch return rate limiter. Just use google. well known issue. total job should cost nothing compared to the MTF for a honda trans.
+Pretty Sure : After changing mtf for gm synthetic syncromesh, my grind issue went away and shifting was smooth. I *really* need to look in to the power steering and clutch slave cylinder issue...power steering can be very hard and I have the sticky clutch after wide open throttle moments.
DarkVoid not sure where you are getting your numbers but looking at all of the 2006/2007 Honda Accords with V6 and 6 Speed Manual in the country...there are 12 for sale on Cars.com and anything less then then about $7000 gets you decently high mileage. and only 3 are listed as having the navigation
I picked mine up for $1100 bucks saved it from being totaled off. Put another $1500 in to get it back on the road. Best decision I've ever made love my 07 6mt coupe.
I watched this before I bought a 7.5 Gen V6 6 speed and now that I have one with Navigation, I highly recommend hunting for a nav version. The navigation may have suck graphics (also possibly personal preference) but the level of information that you get from it....from the "out there" like Calculator with converters and a Calendar that you can put dates in to to be reminded of all the way up to Instant/Average MPG and Trip information and highway exit information. Since this was the same Nav that was used on the Acura's that had a backup camera, one is easily added and works great. Buy a $25 camera that mounts in the little plastic covered hole above your license plate and wire it in to the trunk mounted navigation unit. Maps are still available and overall the car is amazing.
There’s one for sale up the street from me (next generation-‘08). Six speed manual, (coupe, not sedan though), with 148,00 miles for $8,000. Seems like a good deal. I want it. Great review
I purchased one of these new in 2006, regret getting rid if it after a few years...traded it in and did a car fax on it years later and the second owner still has it with nearly 200k miles, I traded it in with 75k.
Other than those very ugly aftermarket wheels, this car actually is quite stunning and impressive with the six speed manual. Good Honda Accord family car that can still have a little fun on windy weekend roads. Reminds me of when Acura had manual TSX’s and TL’s
Hey there Redline, I have been watching these videos for a while now and I completely love the way you format and setup the video, all the info gets put across very clear. If i'm able to request a certain car for the video, it would be a 7th gen Honda Civic, I would love the see your incite on it, and have another experts opinion on it. (preferably the higher trim level, the better). Thanks for your time! WO. Hasan
Coupe all day. I think the sedan looks a little odd... Not ugly just odd. If you're thinking about getting one of these, coupe or sedan, get the 6 speed. Its fucking lovely.
second what he said. my insurance was (is) through the roof with the v6 coupe. being an early 20's male with a handful of speeding tickets... but nonetheless fully agree, the coupe is much much much better looking and just from being a bit lighter you're gonna have even more fun. not to mention the 3 spoke steering wheel not making it look more like a granny car unlike the 4.
Thank you for the review! I am buying another one in the morning which is why I can't sleep and I'm watching your video lol. I live in Tacoma I'm driving to Portland at 9 a.m. My last was an automatic this is a six-speed, both coupes though.
Front-wheel drive. Honda actually doesn't make any rear-wheel drive cars now. Their most recent rear-wheel drive cars were the Acura NSX (discontinued 2005) and Honda S2000. (discontinued 2008)
I found 2 types . 2007 Honda Accord sedan 4D V6 100k miles for $7000 and 2007 Honda Accord 4D 2.4 engine 55k miles .for $7400 .which one should i get? Which one is worth it
They only made a 6 speed v6 in the sedan for 2 years and very rare. Coupes are easier to find since produced for many year till 17. V6 has timing belt and 2.4 has chain for lower maintenance costs. Both great engines but that v6 j30-35 is enjoyable..
I've noticed you put up a lot of honda/acura reviews. Is that your preference? I can tell you that my choice of vehicle would be Toyota/Lexus/Scion, but thats just me.
Nice car! I own a 2001 Accord v6 coupe with auto transmission and also a 2012 Accord EXL v6 coupe. I've decided to sell my daughter the 2012 because to me it's nowhere near as much fun to drive as my older one. I now have 235,000 miles on my 01 and still drive it everyday although the auto tranny is getting weak. To me, starting in 2008 Honda went downhill with the Accord, but that's just my opinion.
I love my 06 6-6 coupe I've got Mitsubishi Evo 10 wheels on mine and I've got a 245 on it so I don't chirp 3rd but man do I love the way it handles for being a stock car it handles great it handles just as well as my integra which I have some suspension work done to it I nothing cheap either but nothing super expensive I think the only thing keeping my accord from actually being able to handle to it's full extent is it's height man does she sit high even on 18's I have about 2 1/2 inches of wheel gap
DisaFreek His is an auto but up until then I never really considered an Accord. I might try my local Honda dealer and hope they can find me one, if not I have a Saturn Aura XR, Scion tC as my 2nd and 3rd option.
Yeah. That's why I like to seek out one owner cars, since they paid a ton for it new chances they spent the money to maintain and care for it throughout it's lifetime. It's the 2nd and 3rd owners that trash them. I see it all the time for German cars, people buy them when they're 5 or 6 years old and sell it 2 years later in horrible shape and with multiple problems all because they didn't want to pay the money to maintain it.
interesting, you have the same high school dream like me. I always want accord from this generation. Even until now the dream is still alive and this video poured more fuel to it haha. I prefer 2.4 DOHC iVTEC though, as it has better fuel consumption :D.
+Muhammad Rasyid Prabowo i have that car :). i drove the 2012 civic for a while and always missed my 06 accord se 2.4 :(. getting the accord re insured next month
Help this car is way too fast for the OEM brake rotors and pads it came with came with any ideas on what's the best rotors and pads for this monster of the six I'm guessing The Bremble rotors but what about the brake pads JDM HFP I can't find them
These engines have 10:1 compression, which is on the high side for 87 octane. After all, both the B18C1 and H22A1 also have 10:1 compression. And they both require premium. I suspect that, on 87 octane, this engine is experiencing a decent amount of knock sensor retard. I myself usually run 89 in mine. As for torque, at least part of the torque issue is gearing. Gearing in the ATC6 is REALLY tall - especially first gear. Shorter gearing would help, although I have to admit that I REALLY like sixth gear for road trips.
@@jacobreed47 I know!!! Such an amazing car, if treated right this car will last such a long time! It's a shame Honda's bad paint has plagued their cars for years. Does anyone know more details on that?
One thing worth mentioning about this car is that Honda in its infinite wisdom decided to give it wimpy front brakes. Unlike the 6-6 coupe (which got the 11.8” Acura TL/CL brakes), the 6-6 sedan was given the same weak 11.1” front brakes the four cylinder Accords got. Luckily, it is cheap and easy to upgrade to the 11.8 inch brakes. You can even use junkyard parts from a CL/TL (since you are unlikely to find a 6-6 coupe). This upgrade not only VASTLY improves braking. It also reduces the tendency of this car to warp front rotors. For even BETTER brakes, you can use the Fastbrakes front caliper mounts to use the Brembo-style Acura RL calipers (made by Advics) with 12.8 inch 350Z rotors. This upgrade will give you the ultimate in stopping power, but is MUCH costlier than the CL/TL option. It also requires either wheel spacers or different rims to accommodate the large four piston calipers.
Funny thing is, when I picked up mine a few years back, I had NO IDEA it was anything rare. I knew I wanted a 6-6. But I had no idea the sedan was such a rare car. I got mine for $2500 with a slipping clutch, probably because the dealer charges $3000 to replace the clutch. But I replaced my clutch a few hundred dollars and ended up with a GREAT car.
I got the 7 gen 6-6 coupe haven’t seen any sedans or coupes with the red badge I got mine for 1200 from a buddy after it hit 200k I decided to get a another motor love it San Marino red
I’ve had this car since i was 17, it is my first car and I got it as a graduation gift. I’m 22 now and it stills runs as great as the day I got it. Started at 125k miles and now I’m at 185k. This car is my baby (also in San Marino red :) )
I'm 21. Didn't get my license until July 2017 (so I'm still new). My parents gave 06 Accord V6 but without 6 speed (I only drive automatic). It has about 120K, but it was upgrade with dealer touchscreen, 6 disc CD player, and GPS. My parents bought about a year ago from my Mom's coworker for about $4400. Love the car. Best gift I got. I call it, "Silver Dragon."
I have an 03 Honda Accord 5 speed V6 EX-L with 123,000 and it seems to be doing really well so far 🙂 I plan on manual swapping it when the transmission goes because we all know it'll die way before the motor!
@@motorider7179 dude that would be awesome! I’m planning on doing the same thing. If you do it before I do, could you let me know what you do and all of that? I can give you my phone number or email or something
I have a 2007 v6 sedan with the 6 speed manual and love it. Faster than most other cars on the road. Will be a highly desirable classic sleeper now that the v6 is gone. I put sway bars on from the Acura TL and am considering putting in a limited slip diff for the fwd. Not many people are aware but it actually has a nice front AND rear double wishbone suspension (as opposed to most other cars on the road which have the cheaper Macpherson struts)
I was lucky enough to pick up a one owner 60,000 original miles V6 6-speed Coupe with the hfp Honda factory performance kit that comes with a front lip rear lip side skirt spoiler different Wheels leather seats heated seats etc sway bars I've gone through every piece of maintenance on the engine and suspension top to bottom front to back I did not realize how rare this car was I bought it for a daily because I have a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe that's my fully built track car with a built k24 block K20 head with nothing but two seats in a roll cage in it I did not realize how rare it was to find a V6 let alone a V6 and a coup let alone a V6 in a coupe with a 6-speed and then the rarest of the rare with the hfp package that changes the complete look honestly when I see him without the hfp kit I do not like them I've never been in accord fan I've owned tons of civics integras crx's s2000s never really like to chords but something about the 7th generation coupes with the hfp package or the 9th generation coupes with the hfp package look way more aggressive!!!!!!! My Civic is very nice with a custom candy paint job and like I said a fully built track car but I HAVE NEVER GOT AS MANY COMPLIMENTS ON A CAR AS I DO WITH THE ACCORD I HAVE PEOPLE COME UP TO ME ALL THE TIME SAYING WOW THAT'S A NICE CAR WHAT IS IT AND THEY'RE SURPRISED WHEN THEY FIND OUT IT'S A HONDA And after adding cold air intake full two and a half inch dual exhaust a j-pipe and precat delete to eliminate the three catalytic converters and then a bigger 3.7 l intake manifold and throttle body off the newer v6s it really brings this thing to life!!!!!! And this is only my daily driver and I can pretty much be any V8 from the early 2000s or older with around 3 to 400 horsepower I've beaten Challenger and charger RTS with 400 horsepower was able to keep up with my neighbor's scat pack Challenger with 500 until 100 miles an hour but any older Camaro or mustang with around 3 to 400 I can hang right with them or if they're 300 horsepower beat them all day long and I think this is the older 3.0 when this motor gets tired and gets high miles I plan to put the 3.7 J series engine out of the newer Acura TL and that with all the same bolt-ons I already have done to this engine and a tune I'll easily be sitting at 300 horsepower or more to the wheels the seventh generation Accords did not get much love let alone Accords at all but I will say this is a great daily driver comfortable for long drives and if you like going fast and you put the money in the right places and have the six-speed even the 3.0 can get down with the bigger v6s 350Z 370Z etc
@@6speedvtec789 yeah the car but the motor is not unique lots of mdx and mini vans ironically have said j35 im pretty sure paired with the 6mt yes quite a bit more rare but the shortblocks are quite common in canada where im from at said importers because they use the A8 aswell in the japanese honda legend or some shit so theres 1000s at importers. that being said a lot of j series especially the 3.5 have minute differenence on intake and exhaust setups creating the differences in power generally
Stoked, 2007 V6 6M/T "elderly lady owned 1 owner". She couldnt drive any more and they had clutch, belts, timing belt, fluids, brakes all changed ($5800) and had put a $1800 bluetooth, navigation, android/apple play stereo in 2019. It has a baby 105,000 miles on it. Weeeeeeeee, Ive been loving my 2004 with putting over 230000 flawless miles other than a radiator.n Just as I was bout to purchase a 2017 4cylinder 6speed manual trans this month for almost $8000 more than this with that being a good price. this is twice the car at half price too haha.
Just bought one of these 2007 V6 MT Accords up in March with 60,000 miles. I absolutely love it, and it is as fast as he claims it is! I have yet to see another one on the road in the Minneapolis area since my purchase. I am looking to put an intake in it as was wondering if anyone has this car and would recommend a specific intake and how much better it sounds with the intake rather than the stock air filter system... Can anyone help a #player out?
I own Toyota's answer to it from a few years previous. 2000 Camry V6 5MT. It's a fun car as well. Not quite as peppy as the accord counterpart, but fun nonetheless
I have a 2013 accord which I love but this is my fav generation! Love the look. All the Hondas in the Generation after this one got bulky and too big. They look less sporty!
