2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX Manual, Review, Walkaround, Start Up, Test Drive

Despite it's age, the Honda Civic remains one of the best choices in the compact segment, especially with the manual transmission paired to this particular model. If you are looking for a cheap daily driver, take a hard look at this vehicle.
"Just when the competition thought it had the Civic marked, Honda brings out its latest version. Refined and packed with features, the 2006 Honda Civic is once again a top choice for compact-car shoppers."

I bought this exact car (minus the fog lamps) brand new back in 06, I drove it daily for 6 years and it was an EXCELLENT car, I never had one single mechanical issue in all the years I owned it. Anyone who is thinking of buying one is making a great choice. I now own a 2012 Si coupe but I still think this is the better looking car.

Hey man thanks for this video. Also, good shifting, fast and crisp, you do a great job of connecting the gears together between your shift. There's not many people I can praise on RU-vid about their shifting, it is either too slow, or too sluggish. I think it is mandatory to see someone drive a manual car properly in order to reveal its true potential especially if one is interested in buying that car.

Make sure if you buy an 8th gen civic like this you do your research, The Casting molding of the engine block cracks! Yup, Honda F'd up on this engine block...I read there is a secret warranty extended 10yrs from new car purchase date. Engine block cracks and leaks. You will need a complete engine swap. Be careful. Excellent review, I would have bought the 8th generation Civic EX-L Coupe 2010 or 2011 with Nav. if I could find one. But I learned my lesson on buying used, never again had too much trouble with my first car a 2000 Chevy Cavalier. The previous owner did not take care of the black paint finish, the rear frame rails were rusted out, transmission cable broke I could not shift out of park, and the coolant leaked out of the container. But I'm satisfied with what I bought.

It likes 93 gas even tho it's 1.8 will do fine on reg the performance gain from using 93 shell octane is quite noticeable gains in response and General overall happiness of the car running is civics at least mine i does not like regular fuel.. another thing about this generation with the non SI r18 engine when it's cold outside put in a performance air filter and that is one of the biggest gains that you will get it blew my mind how much quicker is the car is when it's cold outside

I bought this car new in 2006 and still drive it every day. One problem is that it has terrible blind spots to the right and left of the windshield. If you go around a long curve at just the right angle a pedestrian or another car may just suddenly appear without warning, this happens often you should be conscious of it.

I wish my 2013 coupe was a manual, but I’ll never trade it in or get rid of it, despite the auto transmission version being a total slug. Even in the 9th gen the coupe was way nicer, the base model lx vs the sedan got better seats, tweeters up front in the a pillars to make the sound system better, better suspension and Better handling. Despite the EPS the steering still feels decent and it handles like a go kart.

Well it has 60 horsepower less, about 20 lb/ft less torque, softer suspension, smaller rims, no performance tires and about a 1.5-2 second slower 0-100km/h time. They're both fun to drive, it's a Honda trademark. The Si is too expensive for the money in my opinion. I definitely want one but not for the price of 26k.

Apparently a few of these Civics have suffered from cracked engine blocks. I'm picking up an 07 LX later this week, just wondering when you worked for Honda if this was a big issue?

That foot lever on the seat is for back seat passenger to get out. Weird how my RSX doesn't have one. Even my prelude had one mounted on the upper side portion of the seat.

How do you shift so well? I just can't seem to get my shifts smooth especially from 1st to second. I'm always jerking around.
