@@miniprepper Forgot about this. I finally got my bike 3 months ago. I decided to get the MT03. Love it. I am now saving up to get the Trident. Hopefully late summer 2021.
For a beginner I thought he did very well. I did not hear anything wrong with the clutch. You only need to release the clutch a little slow from a dead stop. Once you are moving you can actually fan the clutch while shifting on most bikes. The Rebel is an easy shifter. The only thing I saw him do that I do differently was put the bike in neutral at a stop, then shift into gear a little roughly, making a loud clunk. But I've seen a lot of crotch rocket riders literally stomp on the shift lever. Once my bike is warmed up in the morning, it never goes into neutral for the rest of the day. I keep it in first at stoplights (and stay to the far right side of the lane, giving me an escape route in case some idiot comes up to fast behind me while stopped) and I always park it in first, then pull in the clutch and start it in first. Neutral is only needed when the bike is going to set and run for several minutes. I'm 57, 6' 240, and I'm on my fourth Rebel 250, my first one being a brand new 1985, back when I was broke.. I've had some 40+ bikes in my life, from huge land yachts to large V-twin cruisers to crotch rockets (I do not like crotch rockets due to their painful riding position) to dirt bikes, large and small dual sports, and even scooters. But I just have a soft spot for the little Rebel. I've put over 60,000 miles on Rebels, and ridden them all over the country. They are virtually bulletproof. They will hold a GPS 70 mph all day and still last 80,000+ miles. 2016 is the last year for the real Rebel. They have replaced it with a hideous abomination. If you want one act quickly. I got mine for $1500 under MSRP.
SeniorTaco is right. I too wept for the clutch. One big hint that Taco and I can agree on I think? When downshifting, 4 to 3 to 2 etc..? There should be no noise coming from the gearbox. Those noises are called "banging gears". Try to slow more before downshifting, or idle the engine up a bit. Shifts should make no noises, only engine rpm...
nice ride! I love how you greeted a fellow bike rider towards the end of the video. there will always be an unspoken connection between to guys on bikes haha.
there are numbers on your speedo that go from 1 to 5 that tell you how fast you can safely go in each gear, I haven't done it on my Rebel because I like to ride slower and take in the scenery besides if your not going anywhere, you don't have to get there fast
Nice ride. For 1 week your riding real well. I just got my learners myself, now I just need to scare myself up a bike, lol. Honda migth not start everytime, but once it's running it's pretty reliable
I have the 2015' Honda cmx250c Rebel in Rubidium Red. I just change the tires from the stock ones to a set of Kenda cruiser Tires, it handles even better. Other than that, thye bike is stock.
Nice ride and good bike keep riding Advice if your willing is slow down your trying to power through gears when there is more to it than that. You will reach speed better if you took just a little more time and it would save the bike alor of wear and tear in the long run trust me. But good riding good bike controle
Been Riding Since i was 14,,49 now...The ONLY thing i See Wrong with This Video is The Neg Comments Below & Im sure Above it "Eventually" LOL,,,,,Good Video,Love the Ride!!
Going to start riding and will be taking the Motorcycle Safety Course first. I have heard that 250 is good to start and going to use for my commute on Highways. Should I go with a 250 or 500?
Did you have to bend the handlebars up to prevent them from hitting your knees on turns? What's your height? I'm 5'10'' and seemed to have this issue when testing out an 05(?).
demo class I have a 85 v45 magna but I found a 2005 rebel 250 with 50 mimiles on it for 1 thousand dollars! I don't think I can pass up the deal so I will buy it to have a second bike to ride locally keep the magna for longer trips
Iv got an 06 rebel 250. Iv been having issues. Does your bike seem to loose power when it goes up slight hills? Mine will only get about 45 mph on flat land, 35-40 up hills. Iv actually gotten it up to 57 going down hill. Any suggestions?
you have issues somewhere. I'm 6 feet and 225 and I can get my daughters 250 up 70 mph on flat without to much trouble. Start with the basics. Clean air filter. Fuel filter. good gas, at least 91 octane or better. make sure rear brake isn't over adjusted to tight. Fresh plugs etc etc. Should be able to cruise at 60 mph all day long..
+tyee4u brand new air filter, new fuel filter, carb has been cleaned. Breaks adjusted fine. I even have the spec rear sprocket and 1 tooth bigger front. It seems to be winding out at 60. I even compared my gps mph to the speedometer. They're both about even. Still can't figure out the power issue. If I'm guessing it's ether in the carb or engine itself.
