This 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee has multiple issues. Stalling, irregular idle, transmission shifting erratic, warning lights on. Mainly caused by a faulty TPS.
Old post i know but i have a 06 jeep 4.7 as well and with the transmission over temp if you use live data it would spike the temperature readings from one second to the next of over 100 Degrees Celcius increase. Turned out to be the PCM/TCM (all one unit). Never had an overtemp tranny issue since.
Possibly if the refresh rate of the data was fast enough. Deselecting unnecessary pics in the data list might help. Definitely won't see as much fluctuations in a graph of the data though. I never thought to compare. Would have been a great example of why you should look at live inputs preferably with a graphing multimeter.
The root cause of the problem was a throttle position sensor dropping out. Erratic voltage output from the sensor was causing all of the problem. See 11:25 in the video. If you want you can try unplugging your TPS and if that is the problem that should make it run better. I'm in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada eh..
Same Vehicle. Same list of problems. Did you ever get past the tps and deal with the trans temp/various other codes? (of which I have many!) Thanks for posting this video. Extremely helpful.
90% of the problems on this were caused by the TPS voltage fluctuations. Never did address the transmission over temp code by as far as I know it never returned. BTW this TPS problem had been ongoing for several months and some times it would run fine for several days. Hope this helps.
@@PhillipBailey hello i jave a grand cherokee v8 4.7 2005 when i brake my jeep stalling just when a ibrake at the stop or the light.what my problems please??i pay 3 dealer and no answer
@@renegade9758 That's nearly impossible to say unless I had some test equipment on it and was driving it at the time. Maybe if you tell me more information. Is it setting any codes? Does this happen hot cold or at any temperature? What's been done so far? Automatic or standard?
