If your car is starting to smell musty when you turn on the fan for AC or heat, or your AC/heat fades when your vehicle is idling, it may be time to change your cabin air filter.
So nice of Mazda to make changing the filters so easy.....lol....and even though I don't have a Mazda, I watched the whole thing Dave - had to check out your editing skills.
I was going to change this air filter until I watched this how to video. I am not going to risk making a mistake with putting those fuses in the wrong way.
Note: Rhd vehicles are the same but obviously mirrored. Although, top filter element slides out first and foam seal is on the lower filter element and faces downward, not upwards.
This should have been about a 2 minute job by design and would have been 50 years ago. Automotive engineers are trained to make even the simplest maintenance tasks as complicated as possible to expand aftermarket profits.
Not difficult at all. Took me under 30 minutes from the time I pulled into the garage to the time I pulled back out. If you lack mechanical abilities, get someone competent to do it for you.
Wish I saw this video before I bought a Mazda. Everything is designed to work with tiny Asian hands. My big ass Sasquatch hands don’t fit in all these small places. The car I bought had a 100k miles and it didn’t look like the cabin filters had ever been replaced, I now know why.
