I know this is an old comment, but, that is actually fine reffing, when their shoulders are turned that way, away from the ref, he still has to somehow make sure Ron Bath isn't shoulder fouling, which is when you lean your shoulder into the other person's hand, thus using just your upper body weight to push their arm down. He is carefully using his fingers to make sure there is still at least a half inch or so gap between the shoulder and hand, or if Ron is shoulder fouling. Does that make sense?
He’s good at getting his name out there. But he ducked and dodged ALLOT of European tournaments when EVERYONE was fighting for #1. He’s one of the tops of all time but no legend unless you’ve only known of Arm Wrestling as of recent.
He basically beat everyone that was relevant when he was the best, with few exceptions, the only guy he didn't face was Cyplenkov because he never agreed to offers that were made. This myth that "Devon ducked the europeans in his prime" is idiotic, the only guys who could pose a challenge to him 10 years ago were Cyplenkov and Pushkar, one of them he beat.

Seems like the judges were being wya more strict with Bath because the last 2 wins for Larrat he literally got directly behind his hand, put his shoulder on his hand and used all his body weight push the his shoulder and hand down.

Arm wrestling rules should b modified, angle of arm should be measured equally, ron was at a 90 degree angle when devon was on a 70 degree so if u know this technic u can divert stronger pressure,
