you people are all shitting on him. Obviously he is not a mechanic he is the average Joe trying to save money by not getting ripped off by every single auto shop. At least he can do it most people can't even check their oil. for all of you that say he didn't show you anything this it is hard to replace a part there are only so many bolts in it take out the old one put in the new ones I don't really know what else you want him to show you do you want him to do it for you. watch the video maybe pull up a diagram on Google and you will figure it out. had to defend the guy he is doing it
Thank you so much for posting this video. I am VERY ignorant when it comes to mechanic work on my car, but wanted to try this on my own rather than having to wait possibly hours at the shop. I'll be sure to use a stand though, especially considering my boy will be helping me tackle this project. Thanks again!
"we're going to use Mr.Cheater bar" no dude, that's a breaker bar. What you should have been using in the first place to break the lug nuts loose. Dear God guys like this make Aflack lose a ton money.
So how many bolts to be able to take the struts off I couldn't see anything please tell me I gotta change mine but I'm dumb when it comes to vehicles ..
Well it has been so long since I did this. But, if you look at your new shocks, they will have the same bolts as the old ones. I think 3 on the top and one on the bottom. I was just surprised how easy it was to swap them for new shocks.
What size socket u used for upper nuts.i had a time to remove mine at no luck.think it a 14mm but nuts look rounded a little.and I tried. 13mm to small and 14mm not snugged enough.
So my car is bouncing like crazy, the plastic on the strut in-between the shock is shredded,an Everytime I hit the slightest bump at 20mph or 70mph my ass end kicks sideways, hoping someone will help,if I change the struts will the bouncing an sliding stop?
I made the same mistake today while replacing my rear strut and shock. i ripped my [cheap] nissan carpeting inside the trunk only to find NO NUT. For the B15 2000-2006 sentra the rear strut/shock is all done from underneath really simple a easy. lol you live and learn.
Tshais-2014 I would take your car to a different shop and get a second opinion unless some structural is bent or not lined up, I did not need additional parts to make my alignment adjustments
I just like to say did anyone see him actually do anything rite. He wife did the better job leaving the weekend warrior to wonderland on mommys. Car lmao g.y.s.o.t
Well I will admit if this guy can do it, anyone can including an unborn child. Thanks for that inspiration, but I've docked you man points for the lack of proper tools and safety precautions. You should also be using a torque wrench when installing parts.....
