while I was cleaning mine I also quickly removed the anti shudder valve on the side, it was full of oil over the circuit board. And the map sensor gets choked up also 👍
can purchase new EGR valves now for £29.00 you can also unplug it if you are stuck in limp mode to get home car works perfectly if not better but will need replacing or cleaned as your DPF wont regenerate.
I had a tid from 2012 till this year. Never needed to replace the egr as I used to clean it out every year. I learned in the end, as I had no dpf I could unplug it thus not getting the crap put into the manifold from it 😂 Also worth taking the throttle housing off and scraping out as much gack out the manifold as you can reach, also clean the maf sensor. (just done this on my ttid) it was a mess! 😢
What's the view at @05:05 mate? (Cheers for the video btw) I've had the 1.9 TiD (150bhp) for 2 weeks now and it's not got the oomph, went into low performance mode after 2 days. Checked the map sensor during a lunch break at work and it was caked in shit. Cleaned it off and low perform wa ring went off. Looking forward to cleaning rhe EGR this weekend (!assuming slitarse and kids let me) I've found the torque settings for putting the bolts back. Any tips for cleaning rhe pipe mate? Heard EGR delete is an option but surely that kills a bit of the engines potential off? Good use of jobs gorillapod too bud 😉
@@paulraynard2226 Hi Paul did this and car has started to loose power at 3000rpm and won't go any more. Tried another clean of the throttle body mag and BCV in head but still scratching my head have you ever had this with your ride. Cheers Richard
Do you know if the placement and procedure is the same on my saab 9-5 2006 1,9TID? DOnt feel like buying a new EGR-valve since it's so incredible expensive..
+Paul Raynard Damn you're fast at answering! I will check it up when I get home! How long time would you think a novice mechanic would spend on it? Thanks for reply
+Paul Raynard Okey I've got another question.. I have dissmounted my valve and cleaned it but I still think it feels a bit "slow" when I "open" it with my hand.. I didn't have to puch much preassure in but the begining felt like it was a bit more resistance from when it's open a bit.. Is this normal? Sorry for my terrible explenation..
