I tell you what that was an exciting Florida team to watch. I know our coach Les has been complaining about how LSU plays Florida every year but I love it. People always talk about the Georgia-Auburn, Tennessee-Alabama cross conference rivalries but the best cross conference rivalry this past decade has EASILY been the Florida-LSU game.
Percy was a game changer this is something the gators have lacked for a while, although I think they have one now in Demarcus Robinson. I expect him to really become one if the elite recievers in the country next year
Even though my Hogs lost this game, it was still a great and exciting one to watch. So many big plays and momentum shifts. I will never forgive Reggie Fish though.
Nike watched this game and said there will come a time of twin eclipses and we will make nothing but Arkansas jerseys for the first and Florida jerseys for the second maybe my timing is off idk I was thinking the Baker era Browns ☠️
Could not agree with you more. Florida LSU is probably the most underrated rivalry in all of the SEC. It would be a shame if it ended. It's almost always a great game. I think the only negative about the rivalry, is that sometimes the losing team ends up in a lame bowl game. Even if the losing team has a great year. Like LSU this past year for example. But I guess that's why it's the SEC. Top competition every game. Anybody outside the conference will never understand until the day they join.
This was a great game until Reggie Fish tried to field an over-the-shoulder punt inside the 5 yard line! Heart-breaking as a HOG fan, but a good game nonetheless! Thanks for posting!
GCFB 98 yeah, and the craziest part was the entire CFB community freaking out when we were selected to play OSU, thinking we would get smoked. And then on the first play of the game, they run back the kickoff for a TD and everyone was ready to laugh us off the field. And then we go on to win 41-14. An amazing year for UF
Reggie gave Florida the lead, all of the momentum and the game.He should’ve never even tried to field that punt. Arkansas was cruising until that happened SMH. I will never forget that boneheaded play.
I was a Gators fan sitting in the end zone upper level. You can hear that the crowd was pretty quiet during that play. I could see that Reggie had misjudged the punt, and as he turned around I yelled, "FUMBLE!" You can kind of hear that on the video if you play it at half-speed. I'm pretty sure Reggie heard me. The folks around me claimed that I helped the Gators win that game. I don't think that I did, but the possibility of it made me feel bad and still does, because I knew that Reggie would be haunted by that fumble for the rest of his life.
What I really remember the most about this was what happened the next day. Florida wins the SEC Championship, played the toughest schedule in the country that year only losing once, and everyone still said Michigan should've went over Florida to play Ohio State. That was like a slap in the face and only added to the motivation on what happened when the two teams played in Glendale on January 8th of 07.
You have to give Arkansas their props. I forgot they had Felix Jones and Darren McFadden! If not for that fumbled punt that game could of gone differently.
I agree Les shouldn't have vocalized that, but honestly take a look at Alabama's schedule compared to LSU's the past couple years and this coming year. It's a little unfair.
We had a great backfield but it wasn't hard to stop when you could expect it EVERY down.. wow this made me remember why I hate Houston Nutt. You have to switch it up every now and then I don't care how good your back field is
We didn’t have a fucking qb nutt was a good coach we had dick as our qb and fish is why we lost not coach nutt we went 7 and 1 in conference can’t blame nutt dumbfuck
How many games has Arkansas played like this over the decades? Blocked punt. Fumbled punt...that should never have been fielded and gives Fla a TD on it. So many dumb mistakes. Can never put a complete game together, especially in the big games that matter like this one.
@@PENS68 Yup. Smith was 4-11 for less than 40 yards and a pick. I just hate when people shit on Leak and act like Tebow was the QB of that 2006 team. Leak still owns all the passing records as he started all 4 years. Amazing considering Zook and Meyer used him in spread option offenses.
09 is when the refs absolutely screwed Arkansas against #1 Florida when they absolutely should have won that game. There were like 3 BLATANTLY bad calls all in the 4th quarter to seal the deal. That exact same ref was caught doing it again that cost Arkansas a few more games in years since
