I have watched 40+ videos trying to diagnose what was wrong with my car that kept cranking. I've replaced the fuel pump, spark plugs, and other parts. I watched your video and found out that it was THE KEY!!! Thank you for posting this!!!! I now have my commuter car ready to go. You rock!!!!
I had just been working on my granddaughters car that she just bought .she had given me spare keys and took the main key..car would not start. I called her and she bought me the manufacturer key..started right up...So thank you so much...This video was a huge help...
Thank You Very Much. I lost my original key. Had a new one made. 250 bucks house call. Found the original later and carried it for back up, actually used it to get to the store today no prob. Came out after a 40 minute wait getting my prescription filled. Used the original back up key again and it did nothing. Just cranked. I'm sitting there in 10 degree weather pissed. Called a tow company. 65 bucks for tow. Told him I would try again and call back if needed. Got on you tube 2009 Toyota Corolla cranks but doesn't start. Watched your video and proceeded to use my other key. The one I had made. Bingo...started right up. Don't know why my original key started my car at first and then failed at the store...maybe the temps....but I'm sure glad I came across your video. Thanks for helping people out here. God Bless
Bro... Thank you man! I had switched my keys when I rented a car... I took off my Toyota key (so I wouldn't lose it) and placed it my small utility drawer. But my spare was in there too! When I came back from returning the car rental, I grabbed my key from my drawer not knowing I grabbed the spare! I went and got and Bam! The car turned on. I can't believe I bought a fuel pump and did all of this and didn't check that I had my spare, lol! Well, at least I learned how to change fuel pump AND found like $6 of change under my seat! But Thank you so much !!!
I can confirm that this is Legit. I had the same problem and thanks to this video I saved myself about $300 in a mechanic to come and look at the car and saved myself $150 from the dealership to program the key. I called a private locksmith and he charged me only $70 so thank you! Thank you for sharing this information and for saving me some money! God bless you and I can confirm that this is legit. I had a key made without a chip and the car will crank and crank and crank but no run. I went ahead and programmed a key. Car started without an issue! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I just watched this video 6/24/2023. I have a 2004 Sienna with three duplicate keys. My son drove it and later it would not start. Same thing, it cranks but wouldn't start. We had it towed home and it's been sitting for about 4 months. I've just exhaustedly watched every video on troubleshooting this crank but no start issue and was hesitatingly ready to embark on a long possible journey to try and solve this through process of elimination. I was ready to start checking every fuse then spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel pump, blah, blah, blah! I had a hunch that the key immobilizer could be a possible problem and basically typed in, " IMMOBILIZER NO START", and saw this video. I quickly went in my spare key drawer and found the other 2 keys and went outside to start it with them and they both started right away!!! The bad key that we originally was using wouldn't start but I tried again the 2 duplicate spares and again they both worked! This video saved me SO much hassles and future frustrations!!! WOW! I'm blown away and ecstatic! I have my car back and never would've known that it was this SIMPLE solution!!!!! BAD KEY IMMOBILIZER!
This replacement key issue solved our no start condition. Thank you for sharing! Scenario: Son left for basic training and didn't leave keys. Hired a locksmith to create new keys that worked so we could move car. Son returns home later, tried starting for 30 min using original key and it wouldn't work. Watched this video, tried starting with new replacement key and it started no problem. 😁👍
Thank you my key was the problem , and because of you explaining the blinking light once the key was inserted I got a new key cut with the correct chip it started rt up every time, thanks
That doesn't make sense. The orginal key is lost. I get a new key cut from the dealership. It's programmed to the car. But the orginal key doesn't work?
Walmart can copy keys with an immobilizer. Just had it done for my 2007 Corolla. Cost about $60. Of course you'll need a functional key for them to copy. Anyway great video.
Just something to try, but turn the ignition to the on position, but not far enough to try and crank the engine on. Leave the key in it like that for about 10 minutes. The system is suppose to be relearning that particular key, which takes a while. And afterwards, it may again recognize the key so that it will start the car again.
In my opinion car would not start with the extra key because it did not match the resistance of the original. You can make a new key with the right resistance sn it will work. No programming needed. The remote is a defferent story. By the way Mister RU-vidr if you have to make a new key for this car as you state in your video you have to reprogram it to the car how would you do that? How do you program a key that does not have buttons or in other words it's not a key fob?
Thanks so much for the video. So I had a new key made not from Toyota two days ago. The key was working fine for a couple of day. Than yesterday exact the starting issue in your video. So my question is does this only happen intermittently with the newly made key. Was that customer unable to use the key to start the car always or intermittently?
The customer had some new keys made and when they did that they deleted the old keys so when they found the old keys and try to use them they were no good anymore they had to go back to the new keys
@@SuperDjnrg this is exactly what happened to me, now I never know when my car will decide “I don’t want to start to start today” . I don’t understand this issue. I had replaced the mass flow air sensor since I ran a diagnostic on the car and said I had to replace it. It temporarily solved the cranking issue for about s month but then came back again.
I have a 98 Lexus Toyota ES300 and the alarm goes off when I put the key in the door to unlock it I don't have the key fob it's just a regular key how can you make this stop happening only way I can is when I get in and put it in the ignition and turn it then it'll stop but how do you get it to stop when you're on the outside of the car and it's alarming alarming any ideas?
I had actually lost my originally key so I bought a a new one so I can have a means to getting to work. The problem I am currently having is car starts 90% of the time but the other 10% it just cranks and it happens in the most random times. I noticed that it starts easily under cooler weather conditions before the sun is out. Do you have any idea what could possibly be the issue?
Tejada, If anybody answers to you your question, please, send it to me! Zip code 34205 hot weather is giving problems to my 1998 Corolla! Sometimes I can even see my odometer working when it is really cold here!! Many thanks in advance.
This may help EXCEPT... i got no crank. Light blinking as in video but it is not cranking either. By the way On another vehicle I had an extra key made. (For another driver) Both keys worked but then the new one was not used for awhile and it stopped working.
???? WHAT Created the 'No Start'? WAS Working before, yes? Did person Grab Different Key at home to use? Makes No sense to have "Spare" that is Useless. Did Disconnecting Battery have something to do with this?
The crank sensor was broken so we replaced it. It had a crack on it that was visible to the eye. But it still would not start so we moved on to the keys and the owner let us know that he had two keys made for it and found the original key stuffed in the couch what the original key was lost he had two keys made for it and they deleted the code to the old key that's how we found out
I didnt have to go to the dealer, and no ace can not do it. I called a mobile locksmith and he came to my house and did it. Let him know whats going on, and ask him if he is equipped to reprogram the key. Once he dose it the old keys will be deleted.
