Defensive issues. The attacking football was some of the most artistic under Wenger.

Some defensive lapses, not as much squad depth as two main rivals and some amazing competition. Man Utd and Chelsea were incredible teams that season.

Nah. Experience and leadership doomed the team in the end. The young squad couldn't cope watching Eduardo's horror injury. And of course Gallas proved to be a bad captain when he was really needed.

They just imploded after Eduardo's injury and the nature of it, including in that game at Birmingham. They'd been shit hot all season until then

wenger's weaknesses were becoming more glaring than his strengths

Going into that Birmingham game which Eduardo broke his leg in we had the opportunity to go 8 points clear as it was an early Saturday K:O on the 27th G/W before everyone else played. The football that season going forward with the likes of Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Walcott, Van Persie, Adebayor was absolutely scintillating. The intricate & incisive interchanges and build up play going forward was truly breathtaking. Including the Birmingham draw we drew 5, lost 2 and won just 1 of our 8 league games in that period which ultimately cost us the title. Finished on 83 points (4 points off Man Utd). The 2 we lost were 6 pointers against Man United and Chelsea respectively as well to make it even more painful. Even if we'd just managed to beat United during that horrific run of results it would have hypothetically meant that we would have won the league in hindsight if the 3 points went the other way although obviously I appreciate the entire dynamic of the run in would have been altered by those chain of events. Fine margins. That was by far my favourite time being an Arsenal supporter in terms of the style of football we used to play. Just a shame we couldn't get over the line and reward all that exceptional free flowing attacking football with a Prem title at the end of it. Fine margins. We completely imploded from gameweek 27-34. What could have been 😔.

Arsenal probably had large XG numbers because they created a lot.

If this team had a strong defence and avoided lots of injuries to key players , they would have definitely won the league and lots more

If I recall correctly he only arrived back in London from Brazil the day before

He was amazing this season. Even Lewandowski misses a few chances. No score scores every chance.

He was better than Nketiah will ever be.

OP gotta point Adebayor wasn't really clinical.

Adebayor joined as the second top goalscorer alongside Torres with 24 goals each that season only 7 behind by I guess you know who during that season.
