@@4WheelKid Since posting my comment I dived in a little more and am even more confused; i believe mine may actually be the switchblock, fuse in glovebox is not blown, illumination of keypad still works and all windows work on the key, every other window bar drivers still has auto up and down functions. Literally just failed while parked for 3-5 days. Passenger mirror looks sus but disconnect either or both mirrors does nothing. Have a replacement set of glass (showed up today) will try fitting on next clear day and update, as these cars age more & more of us will come across the same issue.
Same problem on my 2008 328xi e90. But, I don't have the auto-darkening feature. I was doing a retro-update to the auto-folding mirrors. Before swapping mirrors, I tried plugging in my new control panel and nothing.. switched back to the original panel and still nothing. No blown fuses either
@4WheelKid I don't think so. It's possibly something to do with the CPU not recognizing the new module. I'm thinking that I probably need to install the new mirrors, then the switches, and then code them in. I just wanted to see if I could test the switches prior to my second mirror arriving. I just removed the driver's door card and will hopefully swap out the mirrors today and test it again. I'll post my results afterwards.
Hello! I can try to help you with the issue you have with your car. When your car’s window (BMW F10 528i) was slightly left open during the rain, the window buttons are working fine, and all of them have their respective icons on the mirror. However, the child lock button is not working, which is not a problem if it doesn’t work, but the orange light on the front window buttons and child lock button is not illuminated at night. What could be the issue, and is it possible for the problem to resolve itself?
Hey Brodie I have a 2006 325i E90 and mime are doing the same thing the switch lights up all other windows go up and down except driver side and I disconnected my mirror and still nothing by n e chance u know what else I could do ohh and fuses are all good
Probably something else taking down that lin bus. You gotta find everything on that lin bus using a wiring diagram and disconnect each component 1 at a time and see if it starts working. Also shorted wiring can take down a lin bus as well. Rodent chew. Or one time a body shop did a horrible wire repair on the rear bumper touchless trunk open sensor and that took down the lin bus. And stopped the driver window from working since it used the same line bus. You just need to find a wiring diagram and go from there. Also did you try both mirrors??
I would unplug the entire mirror assembly and see if it works again. probably a lin bus issue somewhere. I had a newer bmw G20 where the entire driver switch block was inop. I knew the rear trunk structural panel had been replaced by a body shop. I commanded the driver window up and down through ista and it worked fine. had lin bus faults currently present. looked at the wiring diagram and saw the rear contactless tailgate opener module shared the lin bus with the driver door switch, I knew exactly where to look. the body shop had ripped the connector off the harness when repairing the body damage. they attempted to solder the wires back the the pins and did a horrific job at trying to repair the wring they damaged. the ground for that module had came loose and took down the lin bus. if I unplugged the contactless tail gate opening module the driver window switch worked fine again. fixed the wiring and connector properly and everything was back to normal again. chances are something with the new mirror, and or wiring somewhere is taking down your lin bus that is shared with the driver window switch.
did you try initializing it? I would connect the scan tool and see if the module is receiving the auto up/down commands if it is then it's probably and initialization issue
Same problem.. driver switch didnt working.. also mirror led.. on driver side didnt working.. i try to disconect mirror but problem still there 🤔 where search problem? Also il try to change new driver swich but didnt work
It’s probably something else on that same lin bus that is taking it down, need to look at a wiring diagram to see what else shares that same lin bus, could also read the fault codes, may have a lin bus fault for each component using that lin bus. Try both mirrors
Did u end up finding the problem? Because I have the same issue on my 2011 bmw 328i, the rear windows roll up and down fine but the driver and front passenger both don’t work and I tried replacing the switch and tried unplugging both mirrors but nothing seems to work, any suggestions?
