Thank you for posting this video. I've been troubleshooting a similar set of issues with my Dad's 2008 Silverado. His ground strap isn't nearly as corroded as the one you had but it's getting there. Can't see where it connects to the engine without a mirror. I went ahead and ran another ground just like the one you made. I've got my fingers crossed that he won't have any further issues with it. I also did a few other preventive measures along with inspecting wiring items listed in service bulletin 08-07-30-021G. I had to laugh at the people that were giving you $hit about your engine bay. They obviously don't know what it's like to live in the rust belt. I live in Maine and the crap they treat the roads with in the Winter just destroys our vehicles. Thanks again, the video was appreciated.
This saved me a lot of money.. dealer wanted to replace all kinds of stuff.. showed them the video and said replace this ground only.. it worked.. no more problems
It's not the CPU . I just bought a 08 esv that had the same problem. Look to the left of the transfer case under the truck . To the left are a set of wires . 9 times out of 10 , they have been grounded by the knuckle under there . I spliced those wires and hooked them back up with heat shrink . Once I fired up the truck, everything went back to normal ! No bullshit
Rob Mason im having similar problems hood says open remote start wont work turn signals wont flash stabilatrack error wierd shifting rear camera needs service hazards wont flash im going to check those cables you mentioned under the knuckle
What kinda issues were you having i recently just bought a 07 nd im currently having the issue of if i press anything in the front radio, hvac i lose power to eveething like the memory seat controls passenger air bag light in the ceiling, the interior lights flicker, radio stops working etc 😢 could you tell me were these your symptoms also????
If You still on the vehicle since you have change those ground wires have you had any more problems with the instrument panel flickering and doors unlocking while driving
I wonder if this is my problem too the problem comes and goes as I'm driving never stays on dosent give me problems with transmission or anything just the lights come on then off
I had same problem. 08 Escalade. My screen and lights would flicker.. turn and and off as I drove... truck would not start no power at all.. mins later it would start no problem. Changed the ground/negative black battery cable, they corrode on the inside.. never had a problem again and it's been 3 yrs now. Cadillac also tried to get me to spend a couple grand.
Maybe you know about this...My dash board shows everything is working, heated & cooled seats on the dash are on. Still no heat or cooled feeling coming to both front seats. Any insight would be appreciated, what do you suggest? I have no burnt connections.
Watched your video changed the ground wire stabilitrak light is off and hasn’t done the gauge or limp mode thing feeling really good about it but don’t know how long it will last hopefully yours is still good and mine will be fine I love my caddy
Mufee I have a 2012 hybrid escalade. Had to take it to the dealer. They are telling me it has like 20 different electrical issues. That they can’t even tell me how much it will wind up costing in the end. Not doing it. So I guess I have an expensive paper weight.
@@courtneyfink5880 it’s that ground wire from fire wall to engine block and it’s your battery negative cable you need new and updated one. You will thank me for it
@@courtneyfink5880 glad you don’t deal with it anymore people take them to the dealer and it keeps happening. It’s a bad negative battery cable that’s all it is!
Thanks for sharing... I'm about to but one a 2007....I have a 2003 and love it, however it's served it's purpose. Have any tips or any other watch out information you can share?
Hello, I don't know why your back up lights stay on. What I would do is hook a trailer up to you EXT that has reverse lights. Or buy a trailer light kit with reverse lights off Amazon, should be about $25 to $60. Test to see if your reverse lights stay on, on the trailer lights. If the reverse lights are on, on the trailer and won't go out when you put it in park or drive.. Then I would have to say take it to Cadillac. But if the reverse lights turn off on the trailer lights when in park or drive. I would say splice the trailer reverse light wire, re route the reverse light trailer wire to you reverse light on your EXT and see if that works. That's what I did on my right brake light that stopped working, despite putting new bulbs in. I'll put a link to the videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QEql8dASLA8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6KKr7BUsssY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5EWuCRCnHIc.html
My car didn’t start after after one hour of my massage appointment. Had to take ride home leaving my Escalade at the parade. Next day I tried a few things I saw on RU-vid without success. I disconnected battery terminals and reconnect, It started fine. Unsure what to do due to unreliability. I love this truck
Good morning you tubers I need help some advice, my ext dies on me when I use for more less 2 hours, it dies and it won’t start up again after a while, it only cranks but won’t start, I took it to several shops and they won’t find the issue, it’s frustrating when nobody knows what the issue is, I did replaced the crankshaft position sensor and still dies on me, if anybody knows what the problem is I greatly appreciate the help, thanks.
@@lamarwoodall174 good morning lamar, i finally got it fixed, it was the timing actuator, the timing would get stuck at 25 degrees advanced timing, and when it would cool down the timing spring tension would bring it back to zero slowly and would restart fine.
Hey Man glad I found your video...Question I bought the ground strap what size bolt you use that attach to engine near alternator..I have a 2010 Escalade

@@cacinturner9287 THANKS FOR PUTTING IT ON RU-vid , FIXED MY 2006 TAHOE STABITRAK 4X4 SWITCHING PROBLEM , MECHANICS HAD NO IDEAS , TRUCK IS A OLD PATROL VEHICLE FROM FLORIDA , THANKS AGAIN!!!!
Thanks for the comment. Haven't had any problems. Since replacing the ground strap. I do have a question on your comment. What and where is the Mega fuse located. Thanks
Cacin Turner the mega fuse is located along the firewall, left side of engine compartment (from front) follow the positive cable from the battery to it and remove the plastic cover and the fuse will be bolted in there.
Bro clean your engine!...not only is your ground straps corroded, but the WHOLE damn engine is corroded!...go to a car wash dude!...you can use the tire cleaner setting if they dont have engine degreaser setting basically same product...spent $7 and power wash that thing!...my 03 Yukon engine looks like the day I bought it!...
