Video saved me this summer. Mine was super clogged with trash and metal shavings from the old compressor. Didn’t even know it had one. Thanks.

That orifice tube was really dirty so I'm thinking that the A/C system should have been flushed with an A/C flush cleaner.
@weatherman3
@weatherman3 2 года назад
question should you flush before or after replacing the orifice?
@rockspoon6528

@@weatherman3 Neither. Not a mechanic, but you should flush BETWEEN replacing the orifice- take it out, flush the system, install the new one.

If it’s a struggle, I heat up the tube just a bit and that will free up the O-rings. Usually works

I just have 1 question, would something like this have anything to do with my 07' f150 not cooling when stopped or idling ? Last year, everything was fine, this year Ive cleaned the shit out my condensor & radiator, and piece of shot truck still spitting me hot air at idle or stopped.

when you remove the filter, the gas from the A/C escapes and do you have to recharge it again or not?

A shop told me my ford ranger had a clogged condenser, but didn't believe them because i seen videos showing if the lines by the drier are not cold but bottom line of condenser is cold then your condenser is clogged. I then took my orifice tube out and it was full of gunk and oil. and my compressor was doing same thing, just clicking on for a second and going off. I wonder if it was just just the orifice tube. But it would take a lot of freon in but not holding it and i used some dye with a uv light and couldn't see any leaks.
@autothechgarage6268
@autothechgarage6268 2 месяца назад
Could be the that the condenser it was clogged or your compressor is not working anymore
@dzorba1
@dzorba1 2 месяца назад
@@autothechgarage6268 there wasn't anything wrong with compressor or condenser. After i replaced the orifice tube and blew air thru the evaporator in reverse flow i then bought a vacuum and pulled a vacuum and seen it was holding. Then after i put 2 cans of freon my compressor kicked on longer and longer and now i have cold air. So the shop charged me $95 for a wrong diagnoses.

@arlenburgin2392
@arlenburgin2392 2 года назад
That system requires 1.5 lbs of refrigerant or about 2 12oz cans. The mounting bolts for the compressor must be removed in order to remove the nuts holding the lines to the compressor. 25-45 psi for low side; 180-225 psi for high side
