54000+ lights synchronized to Mannheim Steamroller's song Hallelujah using 128 channels of Light-O-Rama. Visit www.neverenoughlights.com for more info.
Handel’s Messiah which is also the Hallelujah chorus can be played all year long, not just for Christmas, Easter & Pentecost Sunday which is 7 weeks after Easter but the entire year.
Wow, I would kill myself out of frustration trying to string all those lights, and synchronizing it all together like that-- major applause for not only the result but the patience it had to have taken to set all that up.
Truth be told, in some places the neighbors do complain. Initially it starts out as unique and something to behold but after hours and hours of flashing lights of this intensity. Here in Utica, there is an entire neighborhood who does this and charges admission to drive down the roads. What's really cool is to drive up on a hilltop and look down on it from a far, the flashing lights make it look like the neighborhood is being bombed from above. Merry christmas all....
WOW! Words can not even describe how impressed I am by this. THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!! I am just elated watching this. You should join the Animusic team. This is their specialty. That was so exciting and thrilling all at the same time. I can not imagine how your neighbors feel. LOL.
My parents told me that there were whole blocks that would have contests for the best Christmas displays ( Chattanooga during the 40's - 50's ). I wish I'd been around to see it. I bet it was a lot like this, except for the music.
i used to do this same kind of stuff with the light at my house during christmas, but then electric bills got high and O_o but i still love seeing other peoples work with this, so awesome :D
As far as copyright infringement, they must be insane. It's seeing these videos that first brought me to buy certain music. The more people that see these, the more that might go out and purchase the music!
when I heard this it immediately made me think of the Main Street Electrical Parade in the Magic Kingdom. I was picturing all the lit up characters dancing
Omg I love it! The time that must have went into that display :O. Great job, I wish someone around my house would do something awesome like that! :D God I love Christmas.
+david aukofer Actually, the electric bill isn't as bad as having Christmas lights that aren't synchronized. I have a friend who is friends with someone who did this one year as a school project and I asked if the electric bill was higher than normal or not and they said no that it was about the same.
That happens a lot, thats why there is an increase in car crashes because of these and the cops sometimes will tell them to shut it down. I went to a house like this... FREAKING amazing. And it wasn't as nice as this vid.
Actually I asume he has a bill somewhere around $100 a month. This is because the lights are only on 1/3 of the time simply because they are flashing not static (not flashing). This means that you might spend more on your christmas season electricity bill thank he does.
@skullcrusher301 I added the audio after the video was taken. I forgot to mute the video so you still get the background noise. When the show runs normally it plays through an FM transmitter so you listen from your car. But I can't get a good audio to record on the camera, it's just easier and cleaner to add the audio in after the fact, but it's the same as the viewer would see/hear it.
@grodq I live in STL for many years (go cards) mostly south side. Good luck in the current economic climate. The Lou had a shortage of industry to start with.
I know that's the popular thought, but it's simply not true. My Nov electric bill was $50, my Dec bill was less than $100. I've made copies and will post to my website soon.
Yeah, maybe they use LED lights, like they make for Christmas displays ( eco - friendly ) so, it would use less electricity & the lights would last, AND be less of a fire - hazard than conv. lights. Anything that brings joy is NOT a waste.
when did mannhiem steamroller release this song? it has a definite 80s feel and the beginning drumbeat gets me going :) *i'm a TSO fan but i like this song too
@123kingkongphoto Well I hate to correct you but Rush Limbaugh has given a lot of money to charity in the past and continues to do so, particularly to the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation and to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Also you can't really compare him to people like Turner, Buffet and Gates as they all have way more money than Limbaugh has or ever will have.
No, I'm afraid value is subjective. So I say it is a great USE of electricity. But the homeowner paid for it, so it is theirs to use as they see fit. Just like you can waste or use electricity for your computer that your using to waste/use time on RU-vid.
