I’m the kid who catches Vlad’s second to last one at around 1:32:13 Vlad was my favorite player in the league and my dad wanted to leave a bit early to beat the traffic home. I talked him into staying.
As a Giants fan I have to say that this was probably one of the most disappointing home run derbys ever. I don’t think anyone had a single home run splash hit in this derby, and most of these guys disappointed.
12 years later, Vlad's son is competing in tonight's HR Derby. This one was great, like most of them are. I just hate the newer rules, with the time clock and the timeouts and stuff, but it can be just as exciting, or more.
Why was Rios even in this? I know he made it to the finals but didn't even hit 30 home runs this year or ever haha. There wasn't anyone else? Lol I got to say when they changed the home run Derby to time I thought it was going to be worse but it is so much better. It allows the guys to get in the groove whereas here they would just take anything that wasn't right or they wanted it to be pitched. It has added so much more excitement. The only issue I have with the new format, is there throwing the next pitch before the run has landed so we don't get to actually take a second to digest how far the ball when and where it landed and what the distance was which was a lot of the fun. They might say one went 485 but which one? He hit three in the last 15 seconds. They need to figure out a way where we can have time to actually watch the ball land and marvel at the distance it traveled before the next one is flying off. I think the best thing they could do would be to go back to the rule where you can't throw the pitch until the previous one has landed. It slows it down just a little bit, but not enough to make a big difference. This allows us a chance to actually watch the homeruns fly and see how far they went
At the bottom, one of the texts said “Michael Young has agreed to move to 3rd base and is no longer seeking a trade”. Is this a rebroadcast because Young didn’t move to 3rd base until 2009?

That interview was tough. Berry didn't even say thanks he's pissed off and sad..okay steroids improves strength, durability, longevity but he still hit the 756 hrs and nobody else 👌🙏 to be able to take a 93MPH+ ball 440+ feet is a blessing to do it that many times is insane
