Denman was a tough, old-fashioned chaser. He was a rarity in his time because the top chasers were no longer tested in handicaps. Denman will be remembered alongside horses who were classy and could also hold their own in handicaps: like The Dikler, Night Nurse, Silver Buck, and Master Oats.
