I Just Bought one used 2008 grand vitara v6 2.7 lts. They reap me off Now i m dealing with it Anyways The engine starts on time (No hesitation at all) Temperature looks good after an hour of driving Runs pretty good on flat surfaces...except hills My problem is that - the scanner plug doesn't work. (Can't read any codes) - I Just found that they disconnect the oil sensor or knock sensor - It looses power after warmed up going up a hill. - it makes a rattling noise by the driver side of the engine. I m fixing to run all types of tests .... Oil pressure , engine pressure (compression) Any other suggestions Thanks for your advices.
This is a great engine, I bought mine with 30 miles on it and now I’m at 272,000 miles and the biggest problem I have so far with it is EGR valve clogging up because of carbon buildup and oil leaks which brings me to this video. I have a big oil leak on the front end and I’m thinking it’s either the oil pump or the crank seal, how big of a job is this and do you guys have any suggestions? Great video by the way!
It sounds like the crank seal is more likely to be the leaking very hard for the oil pump to leak from the inside out all you have to do is disarm the front to get to the crankshaft seal you can look up videos that show you how to do the job right hope this helps
@@heavyfoot8679 it has compression the water pump was just replaced. How do I check for codes. Winch sensors could it be. Greatly appreciated thanks for the help
@@elite1745 For codes you need a scanner if you don't have a scanner autozone and O'Reilly can check your check engine for free or you can get a scanner there at the store and no the compression is not controlled by the. Water pump you can ask O'Reilly for the tools or look it up on RU-vid hope this helps

If the same thing happened to you like It did to my costumer and you put the timing right then you might have something damaged inside of the engine check for compression of the cylinders if they don't have any and something's damaged inside
