Did you have to do any work to the carburetor once you removed the exhaust and installed the tip?

Can somebody tell me why is everyone doing cafe racers with gs500F instead of the regular gs500 or gs500E? Is there a specific reason why or its just that there's a huge market for second hand gs500F so it's easy to get one?
