My girlfriend has a car like this and it burns oil fast. But we dont have a oil leak no where. We have to put oil in it every 2-3 weeks. Brought it to the Toyota dealership and ask if they had a recall. They told us no.
Luckily I was able to get mines completely fixed by Toyota in 2020. I bought a warranty when I got it from a Honda dealer, and no more oil consumption after get a complete engine overhaul.
I have this exact one. Yea she burns some oil, but I love her. I drive home 400 miles away quite a bit and she never fails me. I did replace the stereo system and geek squad had fun with that. My 2012 fusion and 2013 kia forte traumatized me from the mechanical and computer issues. I ran back to Camry fast as I could after the Ford shuttle driver said his whole family is 3 generations working at Ford, but only drive Toyota 🤣.
Always loved these from new. Remember thinking when they came out I'm going to get one of those one day! I've now owned a 2010 model for nearly a year, 17000 kms, and not a single issue. Beautiful to drive. Basic, but hey that's less things to go wrong!
My grandpa has that exact same car in red with 185k miles and I have a 2019 Camry SE. I asked him when he’s going to get a new car and he said “This one still works so I don’t need a new car. I’d still be driving my 2000 Camry if it hadn’t gotten totaled”
hi Zack thank you for the review, I had a 2011 Camry from 2010 to 2020, your video brings back many many fond memories. The Camry is basic, practical, comfortable, cheap to buy, cheap to own!!!
My Mom has a 2011 Toyota Camry got a year ago with only 60,000 runs and drives brand new. We also had a rental for 2023 Toyota corolla cross and it drove the same as the Camry as far as smoothness
I just got at 07 Camry, I had a 08 Camry but unfortunately somebody hit my car and totaled it so I got a year below it, hopefully it’s as reliable as my 08 Camry was
The styling on those really doesn't work for me, but I'm sure they're built to a higher quality than anything Toyota made after (including this model). They really started to lose the plot in the late-00s.
I've had bad experience with Rice Toyota in Greensboro North Carolina I never buy another Toyota again after experience I've had with them I'm going to check with Vann York Auto Mall. in High Point North Carolina I'm going to see if they will help me with my engine using oil now at 127,000 miles they have a service bulletin on my car for years and fail to do anything about it except some type of test and told me my car what's okay my car only had 80 thousand miles on
I own a 2007 Toyota Camry hybrid and I love it! I bought it in 2010 with 40k miles on it and it has 334k miles now and still running like brand new, no issues, no high maintenance cost... I just love it 😍
@@kendrickf-d6695 The only thing that I can think about is the headlights, they usually burn ones every two years, left or right, the cost of each bulb run between us$9 and us$16 other than that just maintenance, oil change, tires and brakes
I gotta disagree. It looks chunkier than Zack. My dad has a Camry from the previous generation (2005 with a 5MT), and while its looks won't win any awards, I don't actively dislike his. I can't say the same thing about our 2007 model.
Bro I always enjoy these reviews. Fwiw whoever makes jokes at your weight, lives a sad life because what else can they joke about. They come to watch your video and then post negative comments, but they came there in the first place. I’m overweight myself and I think it’s shallow and childish to make jokes of this nature. I honestly love the back seat review, it’s become an exclusive thing you do and gives me an idea on that cars practicality (I have a big family).
Exactly. People making any type of hurtful jokes deserve to go to hell honestly. You can tell they don't believe in God, and that they don't go to church either. They need to pray.
I agree 1000%!! Not to mention this dude is not MEANT to be a beanpole!! Dude, I'm guessing you have viking DNA(you're built like my brother & son, we found out recently that we have viking DNA, I was not shocked & it completely made sense). People who make comments about other people's weight live sad, pathetic lives! Period. Love your video! Keep on keeping on!! You're doing great, winning life!! P.S. I wanted to do a stand-alone comment, but YT wouldn't let me 🤷🏻♀️
It's not a sad life, it's just the truth. He is overweight. He won't fit in most cars backseat. Most people don't have that issue and would fit nicely into a backseat. They don't make cars for outliers. Just for your information, I am 300 lbs and am only 5 foot 6. I don't expect anything to fit, but I damn sure don't blame it on others. So suck it up.
@@ritasharqawi7367I know this comment is 5 months old but don’t let the oil burning scare you. Just keep track of the oil, check it every 1,000 or so miles and fill it up. It is super easy.
The favorite thing that I like in the interior of this generation of Camry is the Center Dash!! The way it lights up at night, in the ambient blue color scheme, with the white screen on the radio, it's gotta be the most attractive looking piece of this car at night!!
The Automatic Camry's are boring. Mine is Manual with modifications done and it's low to the ground. My Center console looks different, my cupholders are behind the shifter. Not next to it. I also don't have that big square piece, that's in Front of the Armrest.
I got tints, new headlight assemblies with LED strips on them, window visors, and even put some work in the interior, all it took was that for it to look new
2nd owner of an 07 LE. First owner was an older lady who taught at a school. 170k miles and it drives like a dream. It's slow. But it's mine. And it still makes me smile.
Same here my friend... Bought an 07 from an elderly lady that was the 2nd owner but owned the car since 9k miles.. I got it with 110 and now just hit 114k today... Lady was a life long cigarette smoker so that was one issue and the car looks like it was never cleaned on the inside so it was pretty bad.. but I can deal with that. I love it so far and would like a 2011 manual as this is the 1st automatic I've ever owned.. but hey not bad for a daily at all
I have this car 2007 glx 5 speed manual transmission it's working very well until now its over 520,000 km with some burning oil but it's still working good i love it
If you're a DIY mechanic this is the easiest engine to work. Plenty of room, easy components, can't break it if you screw up. Mine has 284K miles and runs beautiful
The problem is every freaking car becomes boring in 2-4-5 years and then you have the social pressure to buy another exciting car that eats your bank balance … this one starts as a boring car and after the honeymoon period you really don’t want to keep thinking about your car.. this is a car that sits in my parking lot and I know when need it it would be there … you don’t need a good looking friend… you need them to be dependable and be there when you need it…. I got the 2020 crv and ended up letting my wife drive it… I m more than happy with this Camry … took it once to my mechanic to test the waters trying to sell… this is what he said … it’s just 100k miles it’s practically new lol
You are lucky because Rice Toyota will not repair mine and my car only have 127, 000 miles on it but I'm going to look into it further I brought my car in 2009, in 2023 that's my original mileage on my car they don't want to fix man up under their warranty
@@ronaldwall7896 they tore the engine down done the head gasket and the piston rings and that was it I tried to pay them to do the water pump and timing chain and they wouldn’t do it while they were in there! But at least they fixed the oil consumption problem which was the faulty piston rings. We traded that car in for a 2020 Camry nightshade edition and it’s a really nice car .
The 2AR-FE in the 2010 to 2017 Camry is quite an improvement over the 2AZ-FE. The A25A-FKS had a rough start but, could potentially last an easy 385,000 miles or more. As for the 2022 BMW 3 series, I'd much rather get the 2022 Toyota Camry TRD.
2AZ-FE is a great engine as well. It was only in the last few years like after 2006 or 07 that they messed up the piston rings. Before that, it was a perfectly well built engine
After only owning this car for a good month and a half (which was originally owned by my sister (only had 150000 miles and seemed to run smoothly, it does burn oil fairly fast) That was the main issue, my father would tell me to refill and check every 2 weeks, which is what I did! After the month and a half period, the motor ends up developing a rod knock instantly and dies all in one day. All I can say is, from a design perspective, it's a beautiful car. But it requires high maintenance when it comes to oil, I consistently refilled it every 1 and a half to 2 weeks. Had to return to my 2002 Toyota Camry, holds up on oil for a long period, and has 250000 miles on it and runs great. My father is narcissistic and made it out to be my fault and bashed me. He's the type of person that when you bring up a concern he will be like "what did you do this time?" And that's why I'm going to mechanics school so I can beat him at his own game and 1up him. I'm just sick of the treatment he slaps in my face when I bring up a potential problem or issue. I own my first ever apartment with my fiance, make music, a certified nutritionist, and all that man can do is only is bash and only bring up the negative in the things I do. Only a few times in my life will that man ever tell me that he's proud of me lol.
Yes agree with every word and yes i love the bland of it. Basically never get a ticket because you just blend in. Left it for a year came back and it ran fine, tires had flat spots but the cure was just to drive.😹
I bought an 07 Camry LE in 2018 with 118,000 miles on it, I am now approaching 200,000 miles and I absolutely love it. Yeah it’s got its issues burning oil, my key fob doesn’t work and it really hates going up hills but I absolutely love it. Got it from Florida with basically no rust at all underneath and that baby is still going strong. I realize that now that I have commented this that it will now fall apart but hey, it’s had a great life.
Had an 09, never stranded me. 1 time( rushing) forgot to put the oil cap on. Drove 90min to ohio, and noticed it. Only lost about 1. Quart. The oil burning got annoying to deal with. Good review mate, show them haters!
2003 camry v6 xle 325000 miles and like a timex it is still going. Nothing fancy, but comfortable drives dang good and just keeps driving. Owned many trucks and cars in my 33 yrs of car driving, not one has held up as well.
👍🏻 the 2007 Toyota Camry is a very practical and utilitarian car. This is a really good video on RU-vid and it should give you some idea if you plan to purchase a preowned car.💯
if you look at the generations after this one (i think this ones the XV40) espiecally the xv50, the lines aren't as smooth as this one the design on this 07 holds up better in my opinion
My 2007 Camry was a real oil burner. Toyota said it wasn't bad enough (which it was) and refused to fix it. Had to install a used engine from Japan. Other problem is the dashboard that is sticky & gross. Apparently Toyota would fix for 10 years but never told anyone. Outrageous. I'll end up using a dash cover. I'm the original owner. 231K miles now. Just had to do $2K suspension work on the front end.
I have a 99 Camry v6 5speed with 400K. Runs like new - no issues - no rust AZ car- you can't go wrong with a Camry - boring but will outlast all the flash in the pan new cars
My biggest complaint with this generation of Camry was the styling. It was just too blobby. While previous generations were plain, they were lean-looking and kind of sleek. Future generations arguably went too sporty and overstyled. But this was just heavy looking and had no sharp lines. They even copied the maligned BMW Bangle butt for the trunk...
I bought an 07 for 6500 and it only had 63k on it, the engine is in perfect condition all the oils look clean, no mechanical issues i had it for about 3 months, i been hearing this cars are bad with oil consumption so i been taking car of my car i did fuel injection and also did oil stabilizer and fuel system clean up, i am doing the best i can to ensure my car doesn have any issues and ensuring to change the oil 2k miles before due date, is this going to keep my car fron having oil consumption issues?
8:55 2007 Camry with 86k miles and drives like new? That's like a brand new car with 0 miles on the odometer for Toyota. My 05 Camry with 321k miles drives like new too. Still gets 32 mpg on highway and 24 on city. Still has the original engine, transmission, water pump, fuel pump , ac condensor, ac compressor. You can't kill a Toyota. Even if you don't take care of it. Toyotas are hard as a rock. There built like tanks.
I just bought this car, fully optioned with sunroof, ABS, auto-dimming rear view mirror, ec. etc. and I installed a centre consoul with backup camera and dash cam. I have never been happier with any car in my entire life. Does not burn oil (maybe it was recalled and fixed) and the dash does not get sicky (maybe recalled and fixed). This car has absolutely no problem and has all the tech I need.
My coworker owns one of these and she loves how much space hers has. I was telling her that my Mazda 3 doesn't have much space in the rear despite its a 4 door and she's like "hell no, couldn't be me."
Thinking about purchasing one off a lifetime owner, any specific issues or problems? Has similar mileage, seems like it can take heavier driving than the average 12k mi./y.
@@ruhroh8658 Water pump died at about 190 K... Light power steering leakage at 200K... Suspension repair at 200K. Financially, fixing all of that was a better option.
I've had a 2008 camry xle v6 for a year now. Bought it at 103,000km and now has 108k miles. All black, modern wheels (black and chrome to match with the chrome around the windows and front grill), and an all round black tint... It looks really good and holds up greatly for its age The 3.5L V6 is incredibly fast, and gives you that confidence of going past almost any car on the road with a very responsive acceleration time. It drives and handles like a dream, and unlike the 2.4L VVTI, it doesn't burn oil I've only had to go for an oil change once, and the next oil change should be after I put a little over 2k miles more on it. Not a single repair done since I bought my camry and I'm confident I won't be needing to go for any repairs anytime soon No kidding, I think every home should have at least one camry V6 sitting in their garage, I promise you can't go wrong with these bad boys
I have one of these at nearly 275k miles, and it's still going strong. We recently had to repair the AC, which hurt our wallets, but nothing too crazy. That said, I'm a somewhat vigorous driver, and I hate it. The steering and handling feel mushy to me. I much prefer to drive my '98 Accord V6 - not because of the extra 42 bhp (though that doesn't hurt), but because Honda's steering gives me more confidence in the corners. Also, the volume knob on the Camry's center console is all but meaningless. I use the buttons on the steering wheel exclusively because of the vast difference in precision. This car is perfect for me brother-in-law, who would give up driving if he could. If you want to get any enjoyment whatsoever from the driving experience, though, look somewhere. You can find a car that's very nearly as reliable but still rewards enthusiastic driving more than this one.
Cockroach of cars? I had one…. Customized the heck out of it lol lots of aftermarket goodies for that car. Really good on gas too! Really couldn’t complain at all about the car
You can modify it to look like a 2019 lexus outside. Looks so good and goes well with the shape of this car. Change the headlights, front bumper, tail lights and rear bumper, there you go...
I've had Toyota/Lexus products for the last 9 years and all but one were boring to drive. Aside from some initial quality issues in my 2014 Lexus IS 250, they've all been remarkably reliable. I won't be first to the finish line, but I won't have to stop for gas or maintenance while I'm getting there.
I owned new 2007 Camry XLE 4cyl :) It had wood bits and pieces, dual auto climate, heated seats, sunroof, leather, and fancier rims. Very boring car :D
You need to review my Camry, the interior looks way different then this base model Camry. Mine has a 5 Speed Manual Transmission and Black Leather seats. Black interior with silver trim pieces and the center console looks different mine is also modified.
Uninteresting and boring - you've got to be kidding. It's an absolutely gorgeous design - way better than the new ones. It may be exciting to have the fronts look like insects but there's no way I would want to be seen in one.
I live in Varna Bulgaria. I have the same car. Here the petrol is expensive, a make the car on LPG. I love this car. I m on 117000 miles. Do i need to change the oil of automatic gear box. Spark plugs? I have didan chage anything, exept oil and filters.
