For all videos in the future, it's more helpful to have narration about what you're doing and why than to have Boston playing over the process (even if it's one of the greatest songs ever recorded).
thanks, The first time is a B if you don't know how to remove the electrical harness but once you done it once is areal breeze. I am glad you found it helpful.
Thanks Henry. Maybe I need to explain further what I meant. I have a 2008 model and the H7bulb is gone. I removed the black rubber cover and twisted the bulb and it did came out as shown in your video. However, I want to how to take off the bulb itself from its holder, that is separate the bulb from the black holder with the two black cables. As you know the replacement bulb does not come with the bulb holder. Thanks once again.
Thanks sir Today I need to change signal bulb So anyone ask me removed bumper After change But when I see this video I removed headlight easyly and change bulb Thanks so much for upload this video
It's easier to remove the harness connector if you first push out the assembly "halfway" (a few inches) after you hit it on the side, and try to unclip the connector only then
Hi Henry, in replacing the headlamp bulb do you need to bring out the entire headlamp assembly as shown in the video and how do you take out the old bulb from the holder. thanks for the video.
Thanks Paul and to answer your question....yes, you have to remove the entire headlight assembly to remove the bulb. I address the bulb removal from the holder harness 3:04 minutes into the video, it is done with a push and counter clock wise motion, the bulb holder assembly is pretty standard with most cars. Pause the video at that time and read the instructions. If you need any further info, let me know. .
Hi from Australia. Have a 2012 treg and right hand side lens has water inside. Have you seen any videos that show possible repairs. New assembly over here way to expensive. Thanks
Hi Gordon, I have not seen any videos, but I have fixed some of those by drilling a small hole in an inconspicuous area, preferably underneath to let gravity do its thing, drain all the water, and let it dry, after that put some rubber cement on the hole. we did that with my friend BMW X5 like 5 yrs ago and it worked great.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I have a question if you don't mind. I bought 2 used lights they were in mint condition darn near physically but when I went to put them in it threw off a no curve light code. So what I did is put my old left one in New Right One In no curve light code, then I put my old Right one in left one in and it still threw off a no curve light code so something is bad with both lights am i right? they did come with the box is on the back of them I think they are referred to as the ballast. Also when I had both of these lights in they did not do the self leveling at startup like my older existing ones do. Having said that when I drove it at night it really was clear and somewhat level I would really like to keep these and get them to work. It is going in the Volkswagen on Tuesday for my kessy module would they be able to tell me exactly what's wrong with those headlights with the vaG com. Do they need to be reprogrammed?
Hey William, sorry for the delayed response...Are the lights OEM or aftermarket? it shouldn't matter but what you describing is a possible year or assembly mismatch. Lights harnesses are a bit different from the active lights and the regular standard lights., so if you have active lights, no they do not need reprogramming, the circuitry inside the headlight assembly will communicate to the OBC and it will adjust accordingly. I have regular lights so there is nothing I had to do except changing bulbs, I chosen that because I Off road and use mine in rough situations, so mine is as basic as they come so easier to repair in some instances. I do not have the wiring for your assembly handy, but I know they can be rigged..... visit the Club Touareg, they might have something there, if I find it before you do I'll sent it right away. i know I always say this but i'll post more videos ASAP, just timing is not on my side for now. :) thanks for watching my video and enjoy your T-Reg
They are the documents VW gives to their Service dealers, I have a few friends that work in dealerships and for VW. I meet them thru forums and they send me scanned copies when needed, but in essence they are copies. check Clubtouareg.com...a lot of good info from everywhere in the world...good luck and have fun fixing stuff on your own and not paying the stupid money dealers ask for simple stuff :)
Hi all, thanks for video. I have an 08 T2 and no issue removing the lamp. Indicator easy, but for the life of me, i can not get to the little side light. There is nothing at the rear of the lamp unit to remove near the indicator. Can not find any video on this, or info. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for your time
Hi Venn, the side lamp is a bit harder to remove because of the space and is hard to take a video for the same reason, at the time I made this video I didn't have the cameras that to capture in such a small of space but i'll try ASAP. For now, you can try to do it with a screwdriver pushing one side of the lamp trying to rotate it in its base (counterclockwise) the lamp installs like any other by pushing it and rotating it clockwise, if this is the first time you change bulbs it might be stuck and even the wire cover might be very brittle that they might be flaking off. you might try a very small amount of DW40 to loosen it up but make sure you clean it very, very, very well because that section gets very hot and if you leave any oil there might fry the seal of the new lamp it will smoke and is a mess, trust me my friend did that and put way to much oil to his Porsche Cayenne lamp and burned it, it wasn't bad except for some smoke and a new lamp. Hope this helps
@@hgaldamez67 Thank you very much! . I have figured it out, basically once the headlamp bulb is removed, you have a small amount of access up at the side to remove the bulb. Now trouble is, i have normal or OE bulbs back in, look of course warm compared to the head lamp bulbs............aaaaagh. For a crazy reason, the previous owner fitted HID gas charged bulbs with a kit. Big no no in the UK and will fail the yearly MOT inspection. Visibility wise is actually good, clean white beam and nice spread which will not blind on coming traffic. But i need to revert back to OE bulbs. I am presuming h7, but also for 08 T2 shows HID as well, little confusing of which is correct. Need to read up more now and make sure i order the correct bulbs. Thanks for reply, tips, really appreciate your time. I will get their in the end haha. Its all new to me , but loving the car so far. :-)
@@venn105 I am glad I was able to help, Yes depending the series of your Treg they might use H7 or H9s, they should be the same fit except for the "L" shape connector. Yeah man, is a pain in the ass changing those lights, specially the first time. also make sure your the wire shielding in the bulb connectors are ok and not flaking off, what happens is that the Headlight assembly gets so Hot that if cooks the wires. they get expose to moisture and might fry the light module. I made this video to show you, please excuse the shakiness as is very difficult to shoot in such a small area, plus handling the cam and performing surgery at the same time :) Glad you are in the Touareg Brotherhood! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R9o4ZEV3SNo.html Let me know if this helps
@@hgaldamez67 Thank you very much again for help and video. Big help for when i get it back. Sorry for delay in reply, in garage for condenser. Then this has showed up an oil leak on the power steering cooler. Basically from a bolt reacting with aluminium , causing a rust then pin prick hole. Only found under load(driving). So hopefully that will get sorted as well and again front bumper off. This time hoping the cooler will slide out and not a full removal again. Also needs a couple of O rings in the air con piping which could be damaged/split. It was leaking from this area. All fun, hopefully after this and in a couple of days, i can get back to enjoying it! Love the car, just hope fingers crossed it will be as reliable as my old subaru. Thanks again .
I bought these when I changed them in my Treg Philips (H11 Vision Upgrade Headlight Bulb, 2 Pack) www.amazon.com/Philips-Vision-Upgrade-Headlight-Bulb/dp/B00P2D4C36/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Volkswagen%7C74&Model=Touareg%7C2443&Year=2008%7C2008&ie=UTF8&n=15684181&s=automotive&vehicleId=3&vehicleType=automotive But make sure to check on fitment based on your year, these fit 2007 to 2010 hope this helps
Henry Galdamez Hey if its not too much to ask and you still have the touareg can you post a video on how to remove the front fog lights. Can seem to figure how to remove the fog light covers and then the lights etc.. Tx
